Last weekend, I replaced the stock stereo (with a 10.1" touch screen) and stock speakers (with 4-way Sony 4x6" and 3-way Pioneer 6.5") in my '98 Chevy S10. I did NOT hook up this subwoofer at the time (was too tired then), so I drove around for a week with music devoid of bass. It sounded good (better than stock), but there just was no bass. This weekend, I tackled this subwoofer installation. I used the included hook part of the hook-and-loop pieces (what most generically call Velcro), along with a few other large pieces I had on-hand to secure it to the back wall between the seats (behind the center console). The bottom half of that wall is carpeted, so the hooks grabbed nicely and secured it well. I then ran all the cabling (the hardest part was getting the positive cable through the firewall to the fuse box input). People whine about the positive and negative cables in these reviews, but they're fine (I'm not having any issues, and I like that the insulation is so thick since you don't want that getting rubbed through and contacting the chassis, though I still placed mine within flex tubing). I was so excited when I cranked my truck and (after powering on the unit) heard that bass; it was incredible! Deep bass filled the entire cab! The lighting is a really cool touch, too! I am very satisfied. It's neat to see that speaker moving in an out behind that large spider... just looks nice. The box is solid; very well-built. Connections are tight. I've a radio with one RCA output each for connecting up to 2 subwoofers. I used a Y-splitter off of the radio's SW1 output to connect to the RCA L and R inputs of the subwoofer after doing some research on-line and learning how that worked. Also, I didn't need to make any adjustments to the 3 recessed potentiometers on the subwoofer; their default settings seem fine to me. Oh, and don't forget to ensure the subwoofer is on when you test it! While installing it, I must have turned mine off, but I thought it was on since the blue lighting ring was on... but there was no bass... then I realized the switch was off. As soon as I pushed it, I was amazed at the enhanced sound of my system! Also, if you connect the blue wire properly to the remote on the subwoofer, the unit will power off when your radio powers off, so there's no need to continually manually power it on and off. Highly recommended unit! In fact, a friend of mine liked my new system so much after hearing it yesterday, he's ordering the same components now to replace his stock system in his vehicle. ... show more

I used a thicker gauge cable for the power since the one it comes with is waaay too thin. It sounded amazing. Like really really good, however, it gets extremely hot and this is probably why it dies. When I removed the speaker from the car there was something rattling inside so I’m assuming the heat the amp produces is ruining something inside. This sucks m because I really liked it a lot. The light is great and it sounds awesome. Too bad it’s poorly designed :-( ... show more

Seventour themself contacted me after this review. They offered a good solution, adjusting point of view of this review. --- *installing took a good few hours in a brand new car. A stock headunit with no RCA and no cable colours or diagram made it a good search. Bought the sub with wirekit that includes the TSK TD22 high to low. After quite some testing and measuring the TSK TD22 arrieved defective sadly. The lines IN received the good amout of volts but the adapter gave no sign of life. Alright can happen right, other reviews also showed that this could happen. Contacting the Amazon costumer service about the failure (Seventour itself doesnt have any contact details or costumer service). All three representatives of Amazon clearly were not in the mood of helping, had no idea what they were hired for and closing the chats in the middle to another (new) colleague. In the end the massage was; you can return the hole package, while I just needed replacement for a cheap TD22. All the cables were installed and connected in the car. Removing them so the package could be returned is not a effective option (yes, personal option). Decided to ditch Amazon USA and bought another high to low adapter. Installed and all working smooth. The sub itself is worth it, surely. Need some good tweaking but its able to preform very well. The sub is good. The extra cables and such not. The aftersales definitely not. ... show more

I bought this product as a Christmas gift for my son. We installed it together the day after Christmas and it was one of the easiest subwoofers I have ever installed. My son enjoyed the subwoofer for a week and suddenly it stopped working. I contacted customer service and we did some troubleshooting and communicating for two days. They decided to send me a new unit because all the boxes were checked for the unit to be working but we were not getting sound. The new unit arrived within 48 hours. We installed the new unit with the wiring from the old unit and success! I have returned the old unit to their R&D for them to determine the cause of the failure. I would highly recommend this product and other products by this company. Their customer support and service is second to none, as well as their product is well made and one of the easiest units I have ever installed. Sub sounds decent given its size. As many have mentioned, its really an 8" speaker, 10" enclosure. Once I had it all hooked up and spliced into the factory head unit, it wouldn't power on. tried multiple remote/acc locations, checked fuses, and thought I had something wired incorrectly. Even though it was fully seated, I found I had to press the wire harness into the high to low converter VERY firmly, and then it fired right up. I wound up having to wrap the harness tightly into the converter box with electrical tape for it to stay on. you get what you pay for; it's a great value, not great quality. ... show more
