This unit does a nice job in cooling down our 40 gallon tank. I read others concerned with the noise however it is no worse than the white noise of a standard fan. This is a nice little fan system. It did work on keeping my aquarium water cooler. My electric bill was a lot higher using it. So, I do not use it as much now.

Biggest issue is that it wouldn't attach to the side of my standard 20 gallon tank as expected. Second issue is within a week it started making a high pitched scream occasionally which I had to turn off the fan and back on to resolve, not huge deal but annoying. Does cool the tank by about 5-7 degrees fahrenheit. But for the price I recommend just getting a desk fan with a clip. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. We bought this for our axolotl tank in the basement. It was hovering around 70-71 in the heat of summer so we wanted to bring it down a little bit. This did the trick. On hot days it goes down to 68 and cooler days itโ€™s 66 just on the low setting. On the low setting it doesnโ€™t make much more noise than a filter but the high setting isis noticeably louder. You do have to watch though if you have a rim on your tank youโ€™ll need an adapter. Luckily I had someone 3d print one for me. Bigger than I thought, 3 fan system for for a Evo 13.5, so a little overkill. We don't notice when it kicks on though it's basically in our bedroom by way of master bath, so pretty quiet but definitely not a whisper quiet. I have it hooked to a temp controller, and I live where it being106ยฐ degrees for weeks, my tank stays ~78ยฐ (+/-) 1ยฐ. Pushes good. Would buy another. ... show more
