How to choose the right DT series 12v refrigertor? The DT series offers three sizes: DT35 (37QT), DT45 (48QT) and DT55 (59QT). All 3 models have the same length and width, but the height varies. It's recommended to leave 1-2 inches of extra space for easy placement. What is the energy consumption of the DT series car refrigerator? The DT series car fridge consumes 38-50 watts, which is normal. Power usage is higher when the fridge starts up but will drop once it reaches the set temperature. How do I turn off one compartment of the DT series electric cooler to save energy? When both compartments are running, press and hold the temperature increase button and the temperature decrease button of one compartment at the same time. This will turn off that compartment. Why does the display show "888" briefly after plugging in the 12 volt refrigerator? This is a normal phenomenon. The brief display of "888" indicates that the car freezer has powered on successfully. Works great draws minimal watts even in the hot UT sun in a black truck! 30W periodically to stay cold, and cools down very quickly. Used it with a Bluetti AC180 and when solely the only draw would go several days no prob. Used it constant for 2 weeks without a hitch! Was skeptical about the two compartments as I don’t think I’ll ever use it for a freezer but it was perfect to separate the beers from the food! No ice is a giant win! ... show more

We just put this thing through a full weekend road trip torture test and it did awesome! I had previously bought a smaller BougeRV model, however after receiving 3 (yes three) different ones, I sent each back due to having a loud, high-pitched buzzing noise coming from the obviously cheaply-made compressor. This Setpower model is far and above a better made fridge all around. Each of the 2 compartments are great, particularly the deeper side which we were able to fit a bunch of leftover food from our hotel, as well as 2 x 10" deep dish pizzas with tonnes of room to spare, while the smaller side was stocked with 12 small water bottles. Everything was kept cool, and the remarkable thing was how insulated it stayed. I tested one day using my 299Wh portable battery, and still had 20% battery left after a 5 hour drive with both sides of the fridge set to 34 degrees. It's one thing for some of these fridge companies to advertise how little power they draw, but if the insulation sucks and the compressor is constantly turning on, the power use is useless, particularly for those of us using portable batteries. The compressor itself was silent ... we could barely hear it turn on in the back seat of our truck, which was a huge relief after the annoyance of the BougeRV noise. Also, I particularly chose this model for the Bluetooth and can confirm it works great. The Setpower app is simple but does the job ... set the temperatures of each zone and turn it on/off as needed, monitor the temperature etc. As we were wanting to make sure the fridge worked good, we were constantly checking the app every hour or so to ensure the temperature was being kept so the bluetooth function was very handy as our fridge was in the back seat of our truck. Overall, we are very impressed with this model. Yes its more money than some other car fridges, but having dealt with issues in another brand I would happily pay the extra money if I ever bought another fridge, to get a well built model such as this Setpower. ... show more

This fridge/freezer works very well in our camper. The freezer and fridge both produce the temperature you set and it cools down very quickly. My only minor issue is that it pulls about 4 amps when on and with my 100 amp-hour camper battery, it sometimes trips off if you set the trip point at 11 or 12 volts, so I set it at 9v trip setting and it works fine. It just probably hits 11 or 12 volts momentarily when the motor kicks in, but I believe the battery is protected ok at the 9v setting. My older fridge did not draw as much amps, but it was smaller and had no fridge so there are trade offs, and this fridge is a very good product that you should buy with no hesitation if you have a robust battery system. ... show more

    • Cost and size with freezer and refrigerator
Size was perfect for back of Jeep Wrangler. The unit took about 30 minutes to get to 10 degrees on freezer side and 20 min to get to 34 degrees while outside in 90 heat. Can’t hear compressor running very quite , control easy to set and was not too heavy for size. Been running on weekend rides and beach and no issues with performance everything staying cold and fresh. Just have it plug into car plug and works well and stays in doesn’t fall out. ... show more

    • Stay Away From This Cooler and SetPower as a company!
Saying this was a terrible transaction does not do it justice! I wish nobody deals with Setpower or any of their cheaply made products! The First Cooler they sent me, they sent USPS, and it was too large for USPS to deliver. So instead of it coming to my doorstep like any other Amazon order I've ever had, I had to take my time and vehicle to drive into town, stand in line and try to find where my package was at the local USPS. When I contacted Setpower about this, they didn't seem bothered at all, first world problems I guess, but they did offer to send me two ice packs! Which I still never got... Once I finally do get the cooler home, I unpack it and get it all set up only to find the unit doesn't power on and there is a large crack along the side of the front panel. The box, by the way, was completely undamaged, so how did Setpower not see this damage!? (Maybe they asked a customer to take it apart? Read below, you’ll get it). I contacted Setpower once again, they were sorry, and I was to ship the cooler back to them so they could send me a replacement. Easier said than done. They package these coolers with those wide plastic straps then shrink wrap the entire box in plastic, which no consumer has in their house! So I used half a roll of box tape and got everything together hoping it makes it to its destination so I could get a replacement. Dropped it off at Fedex and told Setpower it was on it's way. They said they would send a replacement soon. Replacement finally arrived to my door(Fedex, like the first one should have been). Got it all ready to power on but AGAIN it didn't work! Contacted Setpower again and they recommended I take the unit apart and check for loose wires! WHAT?... NO! I will not be taking apart a brand new $300+ unit to look for loose wires! This is the craziest thing a company has ever told me! What sort of junk are you selling when you need the customer to take the unit apart and reattach wires! Especially a unit that is used for camping, overlanding and things that move around! How long down the road until another set of wires magically come loose?! This is probably how my first unit got broken in the first place. Asking a consumer to take it apart not knowing any of their skillset is ridiculous! I then just went into my Amazon account and started a refund claim! To which Setpower replied to and said I needed to "please assist us to close this A-Z first so that we can issue you a full refund". Which sounded really shady to me so I contacted Amazon! I then used the other half of the roll of box tape to get the unit ready to ship back. Drove back out to Fedex and dropped this broken unit back off once again! As of today(25 days later) I have only received a refund for the cooler sale price, not the tax or any of the drama that went with this transaction! Even after Setpower said they would “issue you a full refund”. Oh, and those wonderful cooler packs, still not seen those either. Which is fine, I start to heat up anytime I see the name Setpower. What a complete waste of time and effort! Please do yourself a solid and never buy anything from this company! Such a shame! ... show more

Its been a month owning this and it still works great, keeps a big pack of bottled water chilled, its so quiet you can sleep easy with it in the room, and weighed pretty light when moving it up and down stairs. The door seal wasn't having any issues though you do get some mild condensation build up on the inside so just use a cloth to clean it off once in a while. The black plastic is pretty basic but i am thankful its not glossy so no scratches show up. ... show more
