ORIGINAL REVIEW: I thought at first it didn’t work because I had it laid out on a bed in my camper and kept running my hands over it periodically. I contacted the company and before I heard back I decided to plug it in again and sit under it. It rotates on and off so obviously I was feeling it each time it was off because it worked like a charm and kept me warm. For the price you get what you paid for. The blanket feels thick and definitely can hold heat in. It doesn’t get very warm as others mentioned. I tried using it as a lay on blanket, covering myself with a large comforter. Not effective. The best way to be warmed is to be underneath the warming blanket and top it off with another big blanket. Doesn’t get as hot as my old one, but it will keep you warm, just takes a minute to warm up. It’s nice and big. I wish it had an option for low, medium, and high heat but there’s no option, other than that. It’s a good blanket.

I originally bought this heated blanket for an open SxS trail riding trip in Michigan's Upper Peninsula in October, thinking we'd use it for just a few chilly mornings. It ended up being one of the smartest things we packed. After hours on the trails, there's nothing better than plugging this into the 12V outlet and wrapping up in instant warmth during breaks or the drive back. It made those crisp fall temperatures so much more enjoyable. The blanket is soft, folds up easily for storage, and doesn't take up much room in the vehicle. Downside is spot cleaning only as we get muddy... for the price... I've bought new ones after a couple years. If you enjoy trail riding, camping, hunting, tailgating, or any cold-weather road trips, I highly recommend. ... show more

EDIT: nope just checked 20amps is a standard lighter plug amperage.. This blanked is just bad.. or like I said before. Used and returned damaged.. Barely heats up.. Looked used when I got it.. Not a good buy. Maybe my amps are to low for this? I will use in case of an emergency. But there are better alternatives available.. ... show more

For auto weather emergencies and chilly nights of grid, this is gonna be great! This comes with a zipping plastic bag for storage which is great for storage in the car. I bought this blanket for when I’m off grid in my travel trailer to use with my 400 W solar generator. The blanket itself is a nice heavy fleece. The coils inside are well protected. Or you could use us as a regular blanket without the electricity and it would still be quite warm, though not full blanket size. Plugged into my solar generator the thing became nice and warm at about 15 minutes. Not hot just pleasantly radiantly warm. It drew just under 50 W and did not draw down my battery at all during that time. It would be ideal for warming up the bed before getting into it or for a little extra warmth in the wee hours of the morning before the sun rises. Because it has automatic shut off it’s not ideal to run through the entirety of the night. The blanket did have an industrial/manufacturing odor to it. I have chemical sensitivity that is pretty intense, so I will have to air it out for a while before I can use it. But It was not so overwhelming that I couldn’t test it out first. I expect if I hang it out on the laundry line and let the sun do it’s thing, it will be ready to be rolled back up and stored for use when it is needed. ... show more

I did a search on USB electrical blankets. This was the top seller. But I failed to realize this is NOT USB powered. That is fine for my use because my ancient 2023 American made vehicle still has the "obsolete lighter outlet" (journalists words, not mine). I was reading that many new cars do not even have this "feature" any longer. As far as usability, it does NOT have a setting switch for warm or hot. It's just plug and play. Seems to take a good 10 minutes to heat up and then it's not a toasty hot heat, it's just mediocre. I suppose it will suffice for now. I can't say I would buy it again. I will go ahead and keep it, but it's not a 5 star product. I would definitely search more and probably pay more for a USB product that had a high rating if I ever need another one. ... show more
