This mattress also features Serta’s Comfort XD Foam and Serta’s new Balanced Support Foam for that “just right” combination of cushioning comfort and enhanced support. If you are looking for a firm mattress this isn't it. They categorize this as "Firm Super Pillow Top" it's neither. It's very soft, I would say 3 - 4 on a scale of 10. The "pillow top" is so soft that I sunk into a hot sweaty hole in the middle of night, woke looking for a flat surface where I can stretch and cool off for a minute. May be that I am about 200lb? But that should be noted or it shouldn't matter. Tried it for 2 night and I was back to my old still more comfortable mattress that I hoped to replace. Watch out for the tricky returns as well. If you purchase through a 3rd party Amazon seller, they may not honor the return policy. The nightmare seller, DealBeds made communication and the return/refund impossible even when Amazon gave the green light! STAY AWAY! They quoted $487 for picking up the return in addition to other tricky requirements that make the return nearly impossible. Amazon AtoZ was no help. I received a back charge from my credit card company - 4 month later issue solved? NO!!! DealBed is now harassing me to send the charges to collection! STAY AWAY FROM DEALBED = NIGHTMARE! ... show more

I love this bed. Love. It's SO soft. But I'll be honest: my opinion is skewed since I've been using a futon for years (perpetual college student, perpetual moving from apartment to apartment - you get the picture). However, when I decided to buy a bed for the first time in TEN YEARS, I researched the heck out of it. I settled on Serta. Thanks to that steep Black Friday discount, I took the plunge and bought a twin-sized bed. A BED. And I totally don't regret my decision. It's been almost a year now. Still love the bed. I haven't had to clean it, so I don't know if it cleans well. It's a little high off the ground once you factor in a bed frame, but I've never liked camping too close to the floor anyways. (FYI: my brother, who owns a freaking couple-thousand-dollar mattress, came over to crash for a few nights. He liked the bed, too. So there.) ... show more

Ordered a plush mattress, received mattress, the box came in was not salvageable, the bag was dirty and no way would bring that in the house. Mattress place into Bed frame, a little too short, ordered a plush mattress, its not quit plush, thinking it may need breaking in, after a couple of weeks, still feels the same and request for return.. Lets do the math. $1000 mattress prive $149 for a box to ship back or buy my own $488 to ship the mattress back Will get inspected when arrive to wear house and I am not guaranteed I’ll get a full refund.depending on condition. Just beware if you ate thinking about buying from these folks.. Amazon should not let company like this list their products. I will be keeping this mattress, but never again ... show more

2 weeks in, and we are still liking this mattress a lot! As others have noted, it is definitely a firm mattress. That said, the pillow top provides a nice cushion, so that it is more comfortable than another firm mattress might feel. For us, it has proven to be the perfect blend. Our prior mattress had a much thicker pillow-top, and wasn't as firm, and that sometimes led to aches/pains after a night's sleep. Not so - at least thus far - with this Serta. The delivery was on time and top-notch. Also, the mattress was well-boxed and covered in plastic, and was pristine on arrival and un-packing. Also, we found the thick, fabric handles on the sides to be sturdy and very helpful. It is truly attractive-looking, even devoid of sheets. I thought our prior mattress was deep, but this is even more so. Notwithstanding the fact that our sheet sets are all extra-deep, they are stretched to the limit. The only feature that doesn't seem to stand out is the cool-gel. We detected perhaps a marginal difference in terms of how cool the mattress remained, but not enough to make a noticeable difference in sleeping comfort. Others may perceive it differently, however.
