Oil delivery called to say that oil had gone up to $5.15 (Sept. 2022), I told them to cancel the delivery and bought a mini! If you don't know what you are doing don't buy one like this, get a DIY mini like the Mr. Cool, it costs more but has preset lines. You have to evacuate this system, either hire a pro or buy the proper tools if you are capable of setting this up. I did it myself but I built, plumbed and wired my house. With that said, technical support was excellent, nice - real people. The unit itself is well made, like most newer mini's it's very quiet and super efficient. I got the 12k BTU Aura because I wanted the -22°F temperature capability. We've already seen (Nov 2022) 15°F and it still heats efficiently, at 30°F and 40°F it just coasts along. I'm still taking readings and monitoring its load at different outside temps so I won't have all the figures for several months but, done carefully, you should expect good results. I left our other heating sources in and when it goes down below 0°F I light a fire in our efficient wood fireplace but otherwise it just keeps things at our set 67°F. I MIG welded a protective cover that has one side painted black for winter and the other white for summer cooling, it's suspended over the outside unit. So far it's kept the snow off and the temp up a few degrees when the sun is out. Glad I bought it, mini's have come a long way in the last few years, this one has 25.5 SEER and a 13 HSPF. This is a solid company and I wanted that backup if I needed it. Recommended. ... show more

Great value and addition to my 400 ft space. Haven't fully tested it so far but very happy with the whole process to date. Proper tools are required. Couple hundred bucks here. If you are suffering with old energy hog equipment I highly recommend. I have hvac and electrical experience but, installation was simple in my opinion and could be done by any reasonably handy person. Cutting of lineset was required here. Delivery was over rated. The driver handed off 3 boxes from the liftgate. Liftgate not required for the 12k. Price was a big deciding factor on this unit. Have no regrets there either.     • Indoor Unit is LEFT SIDE feed.
Size: 12000 BTU
All of the documentation and marketing for these units suggests that the indoor unit can be fed from any of 4 positions. Left and Right sides, thru wall or horizontally out the sides. (When looking at the unit). Even the installation manual states "Default feed is right side when looking at the unit". HOWEVER THIS IS VERY INCORRECT. The indoor unit has a hard connected line set that is indeed on the right side (when looking at the unit) however it is bent to feed about 80% of the way across the back of the unit along the bottom edge (inside the case), which actually puts the connections on the LEFT side (when looking at the unit). There is no way to bend that tubing back to the right side, and it's not removable. I don't see how they possibly think this unit could be fed from the right side. THe same goes for the drain line. It's fed from the right, but piped to the left with a non-removable pipe. So how is this able to be fed from the right side? ... show more

In one word, amazing. This unit was delivered exactly as described and much quicker than quoted. If you are not a fairly advanced handy person do not attempt to put this in your self. The directions leave something to be desired. Overall this unit is extremely quiet, I didn’t think it was running at first. The fit and finish of the machine is beautiful. The install took about eight hours for me, if you know what you’re doing it will be much quicker than that. I have never installed one of these units before. In New Hampshire we are in late spring right now, my house is about 650 ft.² and this 12,000 BTU unit cools this space without a problem. I look forward to the opportunity to really try the heating of this unit. At this point it has only been a test run but the heat comes right out and it shouldn’t have a problem keeping up with our demand. The electric company is currently offering rebates which pay for this unit completely. I would buy this unit and install it again if anything should ever happen. I purchased one of the cheap Chinese vacuum pumps with the gauge set up to install this unit. Just be careful because those pumps get hot and can’t run straight out. If you buy this unit you will not regret it. The remote is very user-friendly. I will try to remember to update this review after a year of use, but at this point this unit is simply amazing. Update: December 21, 2018 We have now gone through summer in this unit has kept up with our cooling needs without an issue. We’ve had some very cold weather down to 0°, and this unit has done well to keep up. It does struggle a little below 5°, so you may need a back up heat source if your weather it’s colder than that on a regular basis. ... show more
