The SENIX 12 Amp 13‑Inch Dethatcher and Scarifier did an amazing job on our lawn. We used it about two weeks before treating the grass for winter, and the amount of debris it pulled up was impressive. The dethatching performance is strong, consistent, and makes the lawn look cleaner and better aerated almost immediately. The only downside is the collection bag. It filled up in seconds and became more of a hassle than a help. After trying it once, we decided to skip the bag entirely and just clean up afterward — which turned out to be much faster and easier. Without the bag, the machine runs smoothly and doesn’t get bogged down. The scarifier feature also works well, giving the soil a light aeration that helps prepare the lawn for seasonal treatments. For a corded electric tool, it has plenty of power and is easy to maneuver around the yard. For the price, it’s a great value. Amazon makes it easy to compare dethatchers, and this one delivers excellent results where it matters most: cleaning, lifting thatch, and improving lawn health. Inexpensive tool for dethatching, or scarification. Very simple to operate, comes with the attachments you will need to care for your lawn, topseed. Setup was a little tricky, trying to line up the handle with bolts. After that it was simple to operate, did a great job. And for a tool that will only be used at specific times of the year, longevity should be good. I had no problems with the first use. Quality seemed to be good, no issues. Performed well. Made quick work of my front lawn. Tips: learn from my mistake, plan ahead for extension cord management. And have plenty of trash bags ready for the clean up.

At first it wouldn't start. Every worked after I found the safety switch. It seem to do good job of scatching up the ground and getting rid of thatch. The grass catcher bag is use less. It only holds about a square foot grass and thatch. I filled up 3 33 gallon trashbags with what I loosened up doing just half of my front yard.

Easy to assemble (instruction manual had step by step illustrations - very helpful). It was easy to operate (the instructions were clear and easy to understand). It matched the listed description and photos and performed as expected. The height adjustment was very helpful feature and I like the starter safety feature, you have to press a button and hold the handle and to stop, you just release the handle. The price is very competitive! Overall, very pleased with the tool and would recommend it!

After reading about thatch in lawn and having areas go brown i decided to buy this machine. I am no expert. Long term i do not know if this will benefit my lawn. The amps are not high but this pulled up 3 bags and my lawn is the beat on the block. My review for the diy out there is to get this if looking for a quick dethatcher. Fr what i read the lawn needs this maybe every other year. At this price this machine is a steal. Going to put out seed top soil fertilizer and hope it improves lawn health. This machine is small can be broken down to save space and gets the job done for a homeowner.

I used it on my ST AUGUSTINE grass in Texas. Cut lawn down to two inch height and used the scarifier on highest level. No damage to runners! Removed dead grass from summer drought. Made 2 passes. I use a grass catcher all the time when I mow my yard. I was unbelievable how much dead grass it removed. My yard can breath again. I may try lower setting in spring.

ASSEMBLY WAS DIFFICULT FOR ME BECAUSE OF THE ALIGNING OF THE BOTTOM PIECES I AM STILL TRYING.THE REST IS EASY IT SHOULD HAVE A SNAP IN SNAP OUT CHANGE OF ATTACHMENTS INSTRUCTIONS ARE TOO SMALL AND NOT CLEAR.I have not tried using it yet

Works well, BUT... the catch bag frame is in a rubber c channel that allows the frame to pull lose as you use it. Before I needed to empty the bag, it was leaving clumps of grass clippings. When I examined the reason. the bag was hanging free from the c channel of the rubber on the bottom. I had to put it back in repeatedly and on a few occasions, the sides came free too. Other than that, the dethatcher/scrarifier works well and got the job done quickly. I will clean the bag and silicone the channel to prevent this from happening again.
