  • Happy Hubby
I bought this as a gift for hubby. I did try to buy directly from the manufacturer but their billing system is, well, horrible. My first order was cancelled due to an error by their third party payment service. So, Amazon to the rescue. Delivery requires coordination on the recipient's part as it is heavy. They will not leave it at your door, you must be present. Anyway, this was an upgrade for hubby. Our town has low grade hills, but they are steep enough for the lesser scooter models to slow down significantly on the incline. This bad boy, though, moves along nicely with an old fat guy sporting a back pack riding it. Short answer - he loves the upgrade and recommends this to get around town on beautiful days. He can avoid traffic and beat his car-friends to destinations (small town). ... show more

  • Super Sad. Was sent a Defective unit.
The media could not be loaded. I ordered the GT1 on July 31, the entire shipping process was left in the dark until the guy who had it in their truck were up the road on August 12. I was happy cause I really was not expecting it for a while. At last, it was in my living room. I opened it up with so much excitement! Assembled the few parts it needed, bonded it to my app, then watched the safety video. I then did the whole “you have to walk it for arbitrary distance before we let ride it.” While walking it I realized the tires definitely needed air. I pumped air into the rear tire, no problem. Worked like how a normal tire should work by holding that air. Next up, my greatest challenge, the front tire. I place the pump on, and boom. Immediately letting the air out. So I was able to push the pump down to allow it to fill up to segways recommended inflation of 42-48psi and when I took the pump off, all the air escaped. I was soooo happy and immediately shot down. Wow. What a gut punch. I knew going with Segway was a terrible idea. Their customer service hung up on me. So I called back and told Amazon, send me a replacement, Amazon handled it sooooo well. Segway, you guys suck. Get better customer service. Sadly they won’t expedite the shipping process so now I have to wait until September 1 to get my hopefully working Segway GT1. ... show more

  • Huge step up from the G30P
My MAX G30P has served me faithfully for years, barring the odd repair job here and there. But I've gotten to the point where I need something with more power. So I wandered into my local Chevy place where a 2003 Malibu, overlooked but clearly ready to see the world, sat patiently in a forgotten corner of the lot. I gave it several once-overs and an appreciative whistle before a mysterious hooded man in an odd, Segway-branded cloak tapped my shoulder and led me down a concealed path. At the end of a winding cobbled walkway, we came to a small clearing with only a single distinct feature: an ancient, circular stone platform upon which rested the Segway GT1. Seemingly with great effort, my silent companion extended a weathered finger in its direction, then turned to me with an outstretched palm as if to invite my own. The moment I placed my hand upon his, my senses were overloaded with all manner of incomprehensible visions, before everything went dark. I have no idea how long I was out, but I now have a brand new GT1 in my living room. It requires a shift in riding style from the G30P and takes more effort, but it's already proven to be a worthwhile upgrade, especially at $2,000. Segway support refuses to tell me why Cthulhu keeps sending me mail, though. ... show more

  • Good luck if you get a Flat tire!
First of all I like the build quality of the scooter, it's very heavy duty. This thing is almost the size of a motorcycle and very heavy at about 100 pounds. Definitely do make sure you have the space for it. It's a joy to ride around and commute with. The bad is that if you get a flat tire, they make it almost impossible to do it yourself, it shouldn't be this difficult to change a tire on a scooter. Not to mention one tire will cost you about $60. I was lucky that I was able to get this scooter on sale, but I do regret getting it a little bit. I should've went with the smaller more portable models. This thing will hurt your back moving it around. My only hope is that I am finally able to install the rear tire after trying for days and that the battery lasts long enough to make it worth my while. When it was working I was getting about 12 miles total as a 200lb man, topping at about 35 miles per hour on the normal mode. ... show more

  • This Scooter is Bad-A$$ 🔥
Love the power! Have touched 38 mph with it! This is not your 'eveyday' scooter; this is a 105# rocket! I'm getting 37-40 miles out of a charge, picked up a 2nd charger; it'll charge the battery in 5 hours with the 2 chargers. I'm about to get the dual motor GT2😁. Due to size and weight it's not something portable to toss in your car or truck. GT2, here I come! ⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️ ... show more

  • It's a solid scooter with some caveats
I got it on special ($1500) on a flash sale. So far I'm satisfied with the scooter, although the range at full speed settings is close to less than 20 miles, eco mode at full speed setting(24mph) will give you anywhere from 30 to 45 miles depending on your weight and uphills. I'm so split when it comes to rating this scooter here. It's solid; the breaks are fantastic, the ride is comfortable and very easy to maneuver, suspension is amazing on this thing but the battery and range are just too low if you wanna go fast most of the time. I really don't have much to complain given I got it for almost half the price, but for most people who have paid full price, you could've gone with another brand like a VSett or a Mantis GT, paid the same price and gotten a better performing scooter for this price point. If you can get this thing on a discounted price like I did, I'd say don't think about it too much and get it, just know that if you like speed and weight over 200lbs you won't have a lot of range, but if you ride slow(Eco Mode at 24mph), weigh less than 175lbs, live in a mostly flat terrain, then you most definitely will have good range. ... show more
