It works well but feels like plastic. It’s not a very sturdy toaster but it gets the job done. I wouldn’t use it for a big family because I would be scared it would start to melt the outside.

I love this toaster! It’s a lovely burnished metal red that goes with my other red Hamilton Beach appliances. It has all the options I need: lifter, countdown timer, visual icon of the toast colors, and all the toast varieties anyone could want from white to grain to bagel to waffle to English muffin to gluten free. It not only has reheat and defrost options, you can even add more toasting time, too. Truly, it has all the bells and whistles anyone could want and is easy to use. It will have a plastic smell the first 6 times or so you use it, then the smell goes away. You won’t regret getting this toaster.

The settings either don’t toast it enough or over due it and I have tried multiple different ways. The screen lights do not come on when trying to switch bread type so unless you have bright lights on and good vision it’s hard to see. The bagel setting only does one side so if you put the bread in wrong you just wasted a bagel. And the lever has broken and the toast will not stay down after 2 months of use. I have to sit there and hold it to toast my food.
