Water Heater Sediment Removal Tool

Features 5

  • WATER HEATER SEDIMENT REMOVAL TOOL The Sediment Gone hot water heater flush kit is designed to stir, loosen, and flush out stubborn sediment buildup from the bottom of your water heater tank by actively breaking up compacted sediment while draining.
  • HOW IT WORKS The Sediment Gone Tool threads onto the water heater drain valve and connects to a standard garden hose for controlled draining. During draining, short bursts of air from a bicycle or hand pump create internal agitation that breaks up compacted sediment and carries it out while draining.
  • BENEFITS OF REMOVING SEDIMENT Flushing out sediment helps maintain heating efficiency, improve water quality, reduce the risk of clogged lines and valves, support steadier water flow and pressure, and extend the service life of your water heater and plumbing system.
  • WATCH IT WORK The transparent window gives you direct visual confirmation as sediment, dirt, and debris flow out of the tank during draining, removing guesswork and letting you clearly verify that sediment is being released and the flushing process is working.

Super easy to use and just as good as the name brand.
Super simple to use. A couple of things stand out. First off I like the fact that the fitting that gets attached to the hot water heater can be adjusted. That is to say it has a slip ring so that you can adjust the outport so it's pointing up or down. I used an air compressor as my source air. Got it up to about 45 lb. And you can actually hear the water churning and gurgling inside the hot water heater. In my particular case my system was pretty clean. It's about a year and a half old, but knowing what I paid to replace it I'm going to keep on top of it. I'll make sure that I use this next year. Just click on the QR code and follow the instructions. This is also a little less expensive than the other guys. And it works just as well. Fortunately the PDF from the QR code takes you step by step. I will say that when you turn the water off on the hot water heater after you're done doing the training you'll see that there's water inside of the cavity. This is due to a vacuum effect. After you turn off the spigot on the hot water heater itself most likely a brass assembly. Go ahead and open up the port for the garden hose and give a short blast of air and that will push the remaining water out through the see-through cavity. This will avoid any spillage of water. As far as quality is concerned, this is as I mentioned just as good as the name brand. Go ahead and buy it. You'll be pleased with the results. ... show more

Works exactly as described.
This product solved the problem with me trying to drain water heater. The problem was the drain was getting plugged up with sediment and no water would come out. This product was very easy to use and solved my problem.

Watch a YouTube vid for the procedure and proceed with confidence -- it works.
We went three years without a flush and bought this during Prime Days. It works exactly the way the instructions say it will. The sight glass let us know when the water heater had no sediment left to discharge. One word of warning -- the discharge end of the hose will whip around like a runaway fire hose if not securely weighted down, and I got to do some mopping afterward when I overlooked this fact. ... show more

Fantastic tool for home water tank emptying or flushing.
In short, this thing is a anti mess, lifesaver. Our water heater is in the freaking attic. To drain the 15 year old tank with sediment as we didn't own this home all the tanks life , I knew it would be difficult. This Sediment gone, made the job leak free, and clog free. When the drain was opened water flowed out okay, but through the clear part of this tool, I could see sediment coming out, and it eventually slowed down draining, so all I did was give this tool a couple shots of air from my compressor, and water began flowing freely again. Did that a few times and the tank drained fully. Fantastic invention! Whether the tank may be full of sediment or not ,using this allows you to SEE the water coming out , and helps with tank cleaning and flushing also. You need this! ... show more

Works very well to clean hot water tank
This is made well out of high quality plastic material. It easily attached to my hot water tank and did not leak. The price is reasonable because you can keep this for multiple uses. After I attached my compressor, I could hear the hot water tank stir and the sight glass on the attachment revealed the debris coming out of the tank. Highly recommend this product. ... show more

Easy to use, you might need additional pipe depending on your water heater drain
The pros - being able to see any sediment through the sight glass near the tank while draining. And the ability to pump air into the tank, stirring the sediment off the bottom of the tank to get it out. Also, this tool has a 3/4" NPT (standard pipe threading) female end to the tank and then a garden hose threading on the other side. The cons - not really any major ones. My water heater has a 3/4" female threaded drain, so I had to run to the hardware store to get a short piece of plastic pipe with 3/4" male threading on both ends. Like all plumbing, you have to find the sweet spot to stop it from leaking. I just threw a towel under it to catch the small amount that dripped out. I'll see over time how durable this thing is. I haven't had a lot of luck with plastic parts not cracking over time. ... show more

Waste of money
Completely ineffective for bottom sediment – Major design flaw Title: Flawed concept — Doesn't touch the sediment sitting at the bottom of the tank I spent over an hour trying to flush out my water heater using this adapter, and it was a complete waste of time. It didn't bring out a single speck of dirt or sediment—just crystal-clear water the entire time. Here is why this design fails: * Fails to reach the bottom: On most standard water heaters, the drain valve sits about a foot off the floor. That leaves 10 to 12 inches of dead space beneath the drain where all the heavy sediment and debris actually settle. * Zero agitation at the base: Pushing air through the adapter at the drain level does absolutely nothing to disturb or lift the sediment sitting at the bottom of the tank. * Ineffective flush: Because the air pressure remains well above the sediment line, you end up just circulating clear water out while leaving all the buildup trapped inside. If your water heater's drain port sits higher than the base of the tank, save your money and time. This product simply cannot stir up or extract the debris resting at the floor of the heater. Complete disappointment. ... show more

Awesome
It worked like a charm and I will keep it around to clean out my water heater every now and then. The only problem I was a little late and as it did help I had to pull the water heater outside and running rod through it. But I will continue to use it every so often
