I bought this wireless doorbell to be used by my 14 year old granddaughter who underwent arthroscopic hip surgery. She was restricted from climbing the stairs to her bedroom and had to stay on the 1st floor. Her parents would be sleeping upstairs and although she could call them on her cell phone, I thought that an alternative method to get their attention over night was needed. The receiver was put in her parents bedroom and she had the activation ring button to push. During her first week post op she did have to ring for help and because of pain meds, it was easier for her to push one button rather than trying to use her phone. The set up was simple and my son went through the whole ring/chime/songs play list to choose one that he thought was the best to wake him up. Volume level was easily adjusted also. For the reasonable price on Amazon, I feel like this item was well worth the cost and solved a potential problem. When it is no longer required as a call bell by my granddaughter, I'll be putting it in my garage where there isn't a doorbell for the entry door to the house. The variety of sounds and variable volume control levels will help me identify when I get packages from USPS/FedEx/UPS. At this point I am pleased with my purchase. Got this so people will leave our screen door shut and not knock. Only thing id change is making it louder when someone rings the bell. It's not quiet by any means but my mom can be a little hard of hearing. That's really the only potential drawback. Otherwise it was easy to set up and if my mom messes with it is super easy to reset. She was very happy with all the chimes to pick from. I have a feeling it will be changing every couple of days. It also doesn't seem to bother the dogs at all. Our spicy one will bark like crazy when he hears a doorbell go off on TV but so far even the first dozen that are your typical ding dong sounds haven't made him bark. So far very happy with purchase. We will see how it does this winter and how it holds up when it freezes. ... show more

There was no fuss installing it and no connecting to wifi. I just plugged it into an outlet and it was ready to go. It plays about 25 different rings and songs and also has volume adjustments. It's a great product. The only downside is you can't see the doorbell at night. It would make it 100%, if it had some kind of glowing color on the push button because, with the black doorbell, you can't even see it at night unless you have the porch light on. I wasn’t sure at first how to mount it with screws. The instructions were…limited. So I drilled a couple of holes in the back plate and screwed it into the wall. Worked just fine. The instructions say to plug into the receiver in an outlet at least 3 foot above the ground. Who the heck has an outlet this high other than in a kitchen or bathroom?! I’m happy to report ours works just fine in a normal level outlet. Many of the tones are annoying but there’s enough that we like to give us quite a variety of choices. I love that the button and receiver light up when rung. At our place you can’t hear the bell from where it’s rung so it’s nice it lights up so the ringor knows it worked. This is a nice little doorbell. I'm not tech savvy and i was able to set this up in about 2 minutes. Very simple set up and the directions were easy to follow. I was surprised how loud it was, which is great so i can hear it thru the house. I also had choices of how the ringer sounded. I put this on my front porch so it's kind of protected from the elements. Its rained quite a bit this past month and it still works good, we will see this winter when it can get to below zero. I purchased this for my dad who isn't tech savvy so a RING wouldn't have been ideal. I'm so glad I purchased this, it was easy to install and I don't have to worry about my dad needing to connect it to wifi or anything like that. The volume is perfect and can be heard through about his small one bedroom apartment. The options for ring tones are ok, ideally we preferred the simple ding dong version. I had a similar doorbell but when I tried to replace the battery on the push part, it fell apart, so I needed a new one. I went with this because of the similarity and found it easy to install. I hardly had to read the instructions. Only had to check how to change the tune and/or increase the volume. The doorbell has the battery already installed and all you need to do is remove the well-marked tab. I pushed the doorbell and it was immediately working. I use the double-sided sticky tape and it is up and running. I now can hear when someone is at the door. One advantage over this from my last one is that I used to have one where you installed batteries in the ringer. It didn't tell me when the batteries were dead and I like this one because it is plugged in and it is small enough to not take up a lot of room. ... show more
