Description

Secret Leto is going stir-crazy in the small town she grew up in. Full of Betas, Silver Lake is the safest place for an Omega in hiding, but she can't stand to spend another second trapped there. Passing for a Beta at Goldcrest College is so much harder than she expects. The big city is full of Alphas, and she’s starting to attract some attention that could ruin her shot at freedom. Meeting a rare male Omega and his Alphas, her perfume is triggered, and there’s no going back. She can run from herself, but she can’t hide from her true mates. • Sweet
Format: Kindle
It was an interesting read that’s for sure, their was a good amount that the book could have gone without in my honest opinion. But the story was great, Secret hides who she really is in the name of getting an education. Going to college when your a hiding omega takes an interesting turn for Secret. She finds another Omega just like her posing as a Beta and perfumes for him just like she did the first time with her Beta boyfriend Ryan. Dylan shares suppressants with Secret knowing very well that an Alpha can set her off and with this sets everything in motion for Secret and all her mates and coming home. ... show more

  • Good read!
The story is based on an Omega that is pretending to be a beta because she wants to get out of her small town and study in college to get her degree. Once CC or Secret meets Dylan, another omega, she learns that Dylan and his alpha’s Seth and Cassidy are her true mates. Although Secret is not ready to be claimed by alphas, she decides to go to an omega academy when she is found out. One thing that I would have to say is that I wish the relationships between Secret, Seth, and Cassidy grew a little bit more. I did feel that it was a little rushed, and they didn’t get much time together. The other thing is that I wish Ryan, Secret’s beta mate, was in the book a little bit more. I wasn’t a big fan of his POV just being in the last 20 or so chapters of the book, and I kind of wish his POV was a little bit more throughout the book to build up to the ending. I did think that the storyline was engaging, and I loved the authors writing. One of my favorites was Dylan and how accepting he was of having another omega as a mate. I loved the dynamic that he shared with his alphas. I thought that his relationship with Secret grew quite a bit, too, and I liked how well they seemed to fit together. Overall, the story is a good read. ... show more

  • Simmer Along
Format: Kindle
This was a decently written book with pleasant character build, a good idea for a plot, and a unique twist in omegaverse relationship and pack function that I certainly was not expecting but enjoyed. I wasn't very hooked in the writing style and found myself skimming a few times. There were some places I felt needed more detailed description or outlined planning that was sadly not provided. I also felt that in some areas, there was room for more character oomph that would have been great. But I certainly appreciated the pack connection that Secret and her group had, the personality range, and that sweet click that made me feel like they were a great evened out pack was joyous. Secret was pretty bad ass at a couple of points as it went, but I wish she kept building up to that badassery that seems to Flux back and forth. Over all this was a 3 rating for me mainly because I felt there could have been more to bring a more intense climax. It kind of just simmered up to it. ... show more

  • Exciting, romantic, dramatic and sweet
Lockhart has a very personal writing style, making all her books easy reads. Her sentences might not be very lyrical or flowery, but she knows how to get her message across. And she always fleshes out the guys as much as the girls. Even though this story is set in an entirely new world, Lockhart never bores us with info-dumps. I'm quite excited that we're getting more stories in this world, because it feels like there is a lot left to explore! Our leading lady and I have a lot in common and therefore it was quite easy to identify with her, which means that I also started to feel for her quite soon. I also fell in love with the guys, slowly. ... show more

  • Good read but missing something
Format: Kindle
I think it was a great story and I enjoyed it but it had parts I didn’t like. Like how they treated omegas. Also dragged and while it was a happy ending it had a lot missing from making it feel finished or happy. I get that it’s to get us to buy the next book and I did before I read this one but Idk felt like it was missing something. ... show more

  • Lots of potential but stalls
This book had a lot of potential but it all got wasted unfortunately. First, the exposition was way, waaaay too long. All that information could have been provided in much less chapters. By the time Secret, our heroine, finally gets exposed as an omega I was starting to lose interest. Second, heroine is a big problem. So, our heroine is hiding who she is and absolutely refuses to go to an omega academy because those places are run by elitist, corrupted officials and are basically a hell on earth for omegas. After all, the book is called "Secret Omega" because Secret is pretending to be a beta. Everything unravels when Secret is exposed because she meets her true mates. Now, I understand that she wants to be independent and get a degree but, once outed as omega, she basically becomes delusional and stubborn for no reason. She'd rather risk going to a horrible omega academy - which by her own admission are places to be avoided at all cost - then be with her TRUE MATES !! What?! It makes no sense. Once at the academy, bad stuff happens. Obviously, we have been warned this would happen. There's one scene where Cass observes some creepy manipulation of omegas via hypnosis so they are completely obedient. Most people would get out of dodge at that point. Grab your omegas and go. Not our heroes, they're gonna investigate, give it some time. You know, enough to make the situation completely hopeless. I just really hate idiotic characters and these in this book are at the top of the pile. The whole thing with Secret and Dylan bonding. What was that? First of all, I bought a book to read about omegaverse, so I expected alpha on omega action. Here we're bombarded with omega on omega action. There's actually no alpha-omega action until the very end. Also, bonding in THAT place? That corrupt place full of bad people who you know are watching everything? Apparently it doesn't occur to our characters that the bad guys have no qualms about spying and forcing and controlling. It also didn't occur to them to have some sort of secret code to check in with each other after they were separated for safety in case something goes wrong or their phones get taken. If it wasn't for a convenient introduction of Ryan, the whole rescue couldn't have happened. Like I said, incredibly dumb characters. Also, SO MANY plot holes. With every advance of every page, the characters seemed to get dumber and dumber. The ending itself was unrealistic and totally lame. And epilogue was terrible. All in all, lots of potential but very bad execution with major plotline gaps, unrealistic actions and unsympathetic characters. ... show more
