The lack of directions is a bit annoying but it is easy to use. You just plug it into your laptop and then find it's name in your 📂 section. I opted for the 5tb so I knew I had plenty of space for all my school work and the drive quality seems exceptional. I have seen others complaining about how slow it is and I have to disagree. It definitely takes some time to transfer several thousand files at once over but it definitely didn't take me a whole day to do it. And with it's size I've barely put a dent in it. I also like the size of the HD as it's not bulky and can sit perfectly on the corner of my laptop without being in the way. I also haven't noticed it over heating. It does a great job staying cool even if I leave it plugged in all night long or for a couple of days. My only complaint is it could of come with a longer cord. Also my acer laptop won't eject it even if all my programs are closed it give me an error saying it's still being used by something. It could be because of my one drive account but I'm not sure. I got this to replace a dying backup drive, it was easy to hook up, easy to setup to Time Machine, and it works just fine. It’s a bit slow, so I wouldn’t recommend it for a gaming system, unless all you gonna do is backup with it, and the usb cable it came with is a little short.

Love my new Seagate portable drive! Much smaller and sleeker than the last external hard drive I had (an older Seagate), with more memory, and *so* much easier to use--true plug-and-play, no more of that annoying formatting. I feel relieved that I can easily back up my files now before my desktop (inevitably) crashes. The old Seagate wasn't connecting to my computer anymore, but this one is performing flawlessly out of the box. Perfect external hard drive. I've used a few different Seagates and they make reliably functional hard drives. I've never had one over heat or have any other issues. In fact, I just got a bunch of data off a friend's old Seagate hard drive that normally would've been lost on most other older drive types. The price they have this drive listed at here is a steal! I got the 4tb for $99. I would absolutely recommend it. It's nice and small for how much it can actually fit. You could essentially stick it in your pocket if you want to. The drive is simple to use. All you have to do to use it is plug it in to your USB input on your computer, laptop or tablet and it would open on it's own. If it doesn't, a simple driver download usually solves the problem. You can also plug this hard drive into your TV to watch videos. Every smart TV has a USB input on it and you can toggle to your hard drive with the input button.
