Seachem Purigen Organic Filtration Resin - Fresh and Saltwater 100 ml Seachem Purigen is not a mixture of ion exchangers or adsorbents, but a unique macro- porous synthetic polymer that removes soluble and insoluble impurities from water at an excelled rate and capacity. Seachem PhosGuard, 100 mL bagged - 67101850 Phosguard rapidly removes phosphate and silicate from marine and freshwater aquaria. It is not recommended for phosphate buffered freshwater. Phosguard is highly porous for high capacity and bead-shaped for optimum water flow. It outperforms all competing products.

This stuff is insane. It left my water crystal clear within 24 hours. I have large pieces of driftwood and my tank is self sustainable, meaning I only do a water change once a month and top off when needed. This causes the tannins to build up over time and leave that nasty tint in my water no matter what. Everything I've tried in the past, it doesn't work like this. This stuff is absolutely incredible and I cannot stress that enough, it also lasts FOREVER and can be refreshed to use again. I will be buying more and using this is any tank I have until the day I die, it's that good. It also does not change the water chemistry at all, something I was a bit worried about. Added Purigen to my 300 gallon marine aquarium. Have been an aquarium enthusiast for over 50 years and have never seen results like this. It’s 1 Tablespoon per 10 gallons. It is difficult to find small bags with mesh fine enough not to leak the tiny pellets (no matter what the bag manufacturer says) so I suggest you either use a piece of pantyhose to make a bag or get the pre-bagged purigen (which treats 100 gallons) cut a corner and squeeze out the amount you don’t want, dispose of the rest, double over the top where the hole is and clip it securely. You don’t want to be trying to vacuum up tiny pellets from your tank. It costs about 10$ so knock yourself out! ... show more

I had recently set up a planted tank with a driftwood piece in it. No matter what I did I could not get the driftwood to come clean per the soaking and boiling methods so I ended up using in the tank anyway and tada, lots of tannins leached out. After about 3 weeks I really got tired of the brown water and bought some of this. Cleared the water in my 10 gallon in 4 hours! The water is crystal clear and finally looks like a nice tank! The before and after here are only a few hours apart-- cleared up brown water from my driftwood almost immediately. because my filter is much smaller than most (only a 2.5 gal tank) I emptied some of the Purigen in a container to save for later and then wound the bag shut again with thread. works great :) ... show more
