The media could not be loaded. UPDATE: 11 months later! We still absolutely love this tube. The motor is still maintaining its decent quiet hum (see the video to hear it up close), which is relaxing on its own, though we typically play some ILS music with it to help set the space's tone. The remote still works, despite all the abuse it has received this past year. All of the colors still shine through beautifully. We recently reconfigured our sensory space and it has its own designated corner with mirrors in the little cave-like area alongside some color changing tap lights, a black light, fiber optic waterfall, and some wonderfully comfy bean bags. This is absolutely the star of our darkroom sensory space and many of the kiddos we see love to change the colors and then make the tap lights match. The remote's original batteries have still held up despite hours of daily use and constant color changes. Speaking of color changes the colors can be cycled through individually, set to "flash" to different colors on its own, or (my personal favorite) fade (also in the video) from one color to the next. The makes the entire area very serene and relaxed and every child my speech and occupational therapists work with love using it. Again, we do not use the fish in it, though some of the other reviews of this bubble tube have some great advice on how to get them to move in it properly. I elected to use the articulating fish this came with in our ocean-themed water gem sensory tub along with some other fun little plastic aquatic animals. In my original review (below), I mentioned I was interested in putting it in a padded platform/stand and now I see that they offer this! I plan on checking out the dimensions and seeing if it will fit in our space and that could be just the add-on we need to make this wonderful sensory tool even better! Original Review: Bought this for the sensory room at our pediatric therapy clinic and it is amazing! It does have a decent hum to it, though it is like a white noise and we don’t mind it. We plan on putting mirrors on either side of it. I love the color change setting. We opted not to use the fish as we put them in a water gem sensory tub instead. We didn’t love the way they looked in the tube but they were perfect for the tub so it worked out. We were also really excited by the size of the tube. It is perfect for our clients. We will be putting it in a padded stand to ensure it won’t tip over. The cap has a small hole in the top. So if it were to tip, the water would likely spill. ... show more

It works great, looks great, my 9 year old son loved it!! It's a little loud, not crazy loud could be used for like a sound machine while sleeping but I wouldn't be able to sleep with it on! It vibrates the floor as well not to bad but if your standing by it you can feel it!! I would absolutely recommend for young kids, fun to watch and a very neat room decor item!! ... show more

My son was recently diagnosed with ASD. I read the reviews for this lamp and decided to give it a try. The colors are vibrant, noise is minimal (white noise), and the fish were swimming around within an hour or so. Would definitely buy again.

Unfortunately decided on this one to give to my daughter for Xmas and it completely stopped working February 1st. The pump absolutely does not work, the light occasionally will come on, flickers, turns off. For something that literally sits in one place and isn’t even touched to last 2 months is a joke and shouldn’t even be on the market ... show more

    • Overall NICE lamp...
Overall it’s a nice lamp. Packaging was very secure and wrapped immaculately for protection during shipping, so I truly appreciate that aspect. Pros: Super easy set-up: The lamp is really pretty once illuminated. Lots of variety in colors and mode settings (i.e. flash, fade, etc.) to choose from. Great packaging Instructions: It’s super easy to set up. Simply fill the tube with about a gallon of distilled water. (Note: you will need a little extra water (maybe about 4 or 5 oz. more just to fill it to the "max" line). Next, drop the little fishies inside, plug it up and Voila! The lamp comes alive… The bubbles are really soothing to watch. As others have mentioned, the motor does hum a bit, but it’s not excessively loud. The sound doesn’t really bother me. If I have a small desk fan on, or if the central air/heat is on, I can't even hear the motor. Cons: The top to the tube is not secure AT ALL. Some of the LED colors are not as vibrant as I’d hope. Fishes does have a habit of sticking to the top/bottom of tube. Issue #1. The Top: The top is very loose and not secure whatsoever. It doesn't twist tight or pop in place or anything of that nature, so I was a little disappointed in this. This means you have to be extremely careful of where you place the lamp. Any little ones running around, can easily knock over the lamp and then you'll have a miniature flood on your floor. Issue #2: The LEDs. The many variety of LED lights are nice, although not all of the colors are as vibrant as I’d hoped. For example, the yellow, orange, purple, and pink color LEDS, are a bit dull and you may not notice the difference between some of the many colors on the remote. Issue #3: The fish As many others have noted, the fish does tend to either sink to the bottom or stick to the top of the lamp near the lid, from my experience. So I did pretty much what others have suggested- added a tad bit (like a sprinkle) of dishwasher detergent (not dish soap) and I mean a tiny amount, to the water. Once I did this, the fish started circulating better and moved around the tube. Now, there are still 2 or 3 that still will stick to the bottom (even after removing some of the fish to see if any improvements, some still stuck to the bottom/top), but overall most of them do "swim" around after adding the detergent solution. Be careful not to “over-sud” your tube though, by adding too much! LOL Anyhoo…If UMR could fix the lid design to the lamp and some of the LED lights, I would give it 5-stars. Absolutely amazing. It works wonders for my autism sensory issues. It can calm me down in minutes. The colors are vivid and most beautiful in the dark. The remote is a little finicky with where you point it, but as long as the base is in range it works fine. This product does take roughly 2gal of water to fill up to the line. We opted not to use the fish, so I cannot comment on that. It does make a noise when one. I would compare it to a space heater level of noise. It does not bother me, but my mother can hear it downstairs if we place it directly on the carpet. There were no issues with putting it on a platform (book, cardboard) and it muffles the sound perfectly. The lights work best in the dark. The reds and oranges are hard to see when there is outside light, but perfectly vibrant in the dark. Overall definitely worth the price and absolutely amazing ... show more
