  • Excellent controller with all the buttons in all the right places
Color: Black
Works great on Xbox, Android, and PC. No stick drift, and the back paddles/buttons are easy to hit. I have fewer unwanted hits due to their size, low profile, and placement. The low latency adapter that plugs into the Xbox or PC feels faster and more responsive, but that might be a placebo, or it might be responsible for the 0.2 increase in KD! Did not work on Apple Ipad (iOS 26). It would connect and quickly disappear from the bluetooth devices, never completed correctly. I contacted Scuf support, and they were great to work with. They were very responsive and even sent a brand-new replacement when we couldn't get it to connect to the iPad Pro M5 running iOS 26. Overall, a great controller that is responsive and feels good in the hand. ... show more

  • Amazing Controller
Color: Smoke
I haven’t had the controller for very long, but I’m so happy to have it. It’s the best controller to hold that I’ve tried. Feels very solid and not too heavy, all the buttons are satisfying to click. I love that the triggers can be the full motion or be a hair trigger for more competitive games. The TMR joysticks felt nice and responsive, but they were not groundbreaking in terms of performance. I’m relieved to know that stick drift will be nonexistent though. The real test is to see how long this will hold up for. For now, I’m very happy with it. ... show more

  • D-Pad and Face button double-click issue - Another bad Scuf
Color: White
Update 2 a month later Replacement controller has another known glitch. I finally got around to playing an FPS game, the point of this controller, and found that it has the glitch where you click a paddle button along with right trigger and the internal board glitches and sends share button presses to the XBOX and starts taking screenshots and the menus pop up in the middle of your battle. I can't believe how bad SCUF is!! Looks to be a known issue. I had to go in the xbox controller setting and mapp all 3 of the share button mappings to No Action to completely disable share button commands. Update 1 Scuf sent a replacement after I contacted their support and shipped the bad one to them. The replacement seems to have the doubleclick issue fixed. Upping 1 more star. Not sure why I keep buying scuf controllers. I guess I still want to believe they are the best. I had an Instinct Pro before this and had to have it repaired so many times for a bunch of issues and I rated that a 1 star. Here we go again with the Valor Pro. I thought this would be perfect one with no more drift and the sticks do feel great. Too bad the D-Pad and face buttons constantly double click every 1 out of 3 or 4 presses. Makes managing inventory in Arc Raiders a nightmare. So hard to select the item you want and get through the menus without misclicking everything. It's definitely enough of an issue to make the controller unusable. This has been happening since day 1 and I'm on the latest firmware on both the controller and usb dongle. The controller ergonomics feel great and the back buttons are awesome. They really improved the back button design over the Instinct Pro. If they could do a firmware update to resolve the double click issue I would be at a 4 or 5 star rating. ... show more

  • Best wireless Xbox controller by a long shot.
Color: Light Gray
So far I've had Elite 1 and 2 and most recently a G7 Pro ZZZ that lasted one day before an update bricked it. The Scuf Valor is hands down the best out of all of them. The size and feel is perfect. Sticks, bumpers and buttons all work flawlessly. Wireless on Xbox is excellent and the companion app works just as it should. Dongle and controller needed updates out of the box and had no issue with either. It may not come with as many bits and pieces as the Elite controller but it's really not necessary. ... show more

  • It works as advertised; its competition does not
Color: Black
I have purchased two Xbox Elite controllers as well as a Turtle Beach Stealth Pivot controller. All expensive. All poorly built crap that suffers from major build quality issues. For the price, the quality of other ostensibly "high end" Xbox-style controllers should elicit groans of disgust from the entire consumer base. To be clear, the bar is low. The bar is "the controller works correctly". I didn't even need the SCUF Valor to be a great controller I just needed all of the buttons to work when I press them. But frankly I love this controller, the ergonomic design is well put together and is clearly built for greater longevity than the Xbox Elite whose grip surfaces are simply rubber slips that are glued directly to the hard plastic underneath, which makes degradation inevitable. The underside buttons and trigger click features work beautifully with satisfying feedback. The sticks do not drift. It comes with 3 modes, which is a feature I disagree with. It should work interchangeably as an Xbox/PC/Bluetooth controller simultaneously without having to change modes. It is an annoying extra step for certain applications like the Playstation 2 emulator which seems to only recognize the controller in the "PC" configuration. Regardless, it is a simple switch. If you are looking for a high quality Xbox style controller with underside buttons, which at this point are features I feel are semi-necessary for the quality of life experience, I think you may literally fail to do better than this controller at any price. ... show more

  • Edit- I may have found a dealbreaking flaw: Tentatively the best Xbox controller I've found
Color: White
Update 2: I'm dropping my score from a 5 to a 2 because this issue has become persistent and is a lot more disruptive than my issues with the G7 Pro, especially considering the price. I ordered a replacement and returned the first controller, but unfortunately after a couple days I had my first disconnect mid-game. I also forgot to mention in my first update, but it will often also act like you pressed the Xbox button and open that menu. While that issue is better than a full disconnect, it's still really disruptive. It wouldn't matter for single player games, but it's a huge inconvenience for online multiplayer games because you can't just pause it. I've honestly never had a controller do this and the biggest issue is it doesn't auto reconnect, and there's no quick fix. I tried plugging it in with USB, but then it freaks out thinking it a new controller and won't work. The only way I've found to fix it is holding down the Xbox button for about 10 seconds till it force shuts down, then holding the button again to power up again. It will always reconnect after this and usually is fine for the next hour or two, but you're basically frozen for at least 30 seconds. Which for games like Arc Raiders can be an absolute death sentence. I had this happen this weekend where I was frozen out in the open and had to perform this restart process and almost got downed but a friend was able to protect me. It's honestly bizarre and I don't understand what's happening, because I've owned tons of wireless Xbox controllers over the years, both ones that use the built in wireless and ones that use a dongle, and I've never had one that has hard disconnects like this. I scrolled through the reviews and noticed one after I wrote mine where someone else also is having disconnect issues. So unless Scuf can provide a software update to fix this by the time my return window ends, I'll be returning this one and getting the upcoming ROG TMR controller that comes out later this month. Update 1: I have had issues with the controller randomly becoming unresponsive while playing, but the controller itself gives no indication there's anything wrong (you'd expect some of the indicator lights to let you know). It also will not reconnect automatically. You have to hold the Xbox button down until the controller shuts down, then power it back on and it will reconnect. It happens fairly infrequently, but when it happens in the middle of a game its definitely a hassle. Yesterday I had it happen at the start of a match so I had some time to check, and I did find the light on the USB dongle was blinking. So it does seem the controller is disconnecting. However, I cannot find a pattern that would explain the why it is intermittent. The console never moves, I'm always sitting in the same spot, I don't have anything nearby that would interfere, and it happens during different games. I reached out to SCUF support to see if it was a known issue with a known fix, but they tried to just run me through an RMA. But when I told them I just wanted to find out if they had an easy fix to avoid a return, they told me "Unfortunately, I must confirm that your controller is not supposed to act this way.". So I'm going to return this one and order a replacement to see if it has this same issue. So for the past 2 years, I've been trying to find a better controller for my Xbox. Specifically, I wanted something that had 4 programmable buttons (like back paddles/buttons), adjustable trigger stops, and is reliable; which was actually much more difficult to find than I initially realized. But this is the best controller I've tried that I finally checks all my boxes. It has 4 programmable buttons, the sticks are precise and don't drift or stick, the buttons respond to every press, it feels well built, and as a bonus it's wireless. I'll update my review if I come across anything negative, but the first few days I've been very happy with it. The only real downsides I've noticed are it doesn't currently have a companion app like most controllers have, but it does say one is coming soon. And I'm not as big of a fan of the layout of the back buttons, but it might just be something I get used to. It's still a very good controller otherwise, and until the Asus ROG Rakiri II comes out, this seems like the best/only option available that checks all these boxes. For anyone wondering, here are the controller's I've tried and what made them unsuitable Xbox Elite 2: On paper it's a great controller, but the sticks are atrocious. They don't always recenter and will drift if you don't crank the tension all the way up. And after just under 2 years it randomly stopped powering on. If they released this with TMR sticks it would be my preferred controller. Turtle Beach Stealth Ultra: The absolute worst controller I've ever owned. Buttons wouldn't always respond, sticks would sometimes hold in whatever direction you pressed until you powered it fully off and back on, and it would often inexplicably disconnect. And generally compared to all the other controllers I tried it felt incredibly cheap; like if you were blindfolded you'd think it was a $20 controller. The companion app was also horrible, incredibly buggy and difficult to use. But the worst part was the triggers had such a thin piece of plastic at the hinge they would snap off with normal use (had two replaced for this under warranty after a few months). Gamesir G7 Pro I really thought this would be the controller for me. It was my 1st with TMR sticks, which feel much more precise compared to hall effect. It only has two back buttons, but it does have two programmable buttons by the bumpers which I think a lot of people like. Unfortunately, it had issues with the right trigger and A button not always responding to presses, which really stood out playing Expedition 33, which requires precise timing for parries/dodging. Also, the base version doesn't work wirelessly with the Xbox (though they have some special edition ones for $100 and up that do). I initially planned to get the Asus ROG Rakiri II since it seems nearly identical to this controller spec-wise. But currently it has no release date so I decided to go for this one. ... show more

  • Really good controller
Color: Black
I absolutely love this controller. The joysticks are very responsive as well as the mouse click trigger. The back bumpers are taking a little to get used to. Very lightweight but sturdy at the same time.
