This shed is a classy alternative to the plastic ones on the market and seems well built once together. As other reviewers said it's time consuming and somewhat frustrating to assemble, and a lot of holes don't line up. On a few holes I had to drill new holes since there was no way the factory holes would line up. Additionally the thin metal panels were not well protected by the packaging as many of the panels were dented. Fortunately the worst dents were in the back, so I just kept it. Product took ten hours to put together and still was not “right.” The door handle locked, but now cannot re-open. Called Scotts customer service who said they couldn’t help me, because the unit was manufactured by a third party. Are you kidding me!! I called the “third party” named Shelter Logic and they were absolutely greatl! They are shipping me a new lock set immediately which hopefully will get the unit in an installable condition. Think I will be buying any Scotts products of any kind, in the future? They have been around too long not to 100% stand behind a product, with their brand name on it. ... show more

I usually enjoy putting things together, but this one was more of a challenge than expected. First thing was the base, for which I used 12 pavers filled in with sand. I got it pretty level, but maybe could have spent a little more time here. After assembling the 4 pieces of the base, you will need another adult to help hold the walls as they are very thin and must be supported until you get at least 3 of them up. I do recommend following the instructions and wearing gloves, as I did not have 1 on when I grabbed the top of one wall to steady it and cut my finger. I found the instructions a little difficult to follow as some of the pictures showing how 2 pieces should fit together were a little small for my eyes. Also, all panels/beams were not marked or were very hard to read, so there is some trial and error involved. I got the base squared off, but by the time I get to the top, really had difficulty getting the walls to be square and line up all of the holes. These walls are thin and have a lot of flex to them prior to getting the roof secured. I was not able to get my roof to line up properly (even tried switching it around and pulling corners in), so ended up re-drilling some holes to make it work. I did not find the board that the instructions showed for getting the door lock mounting structure into place - I just used a rubber mallet to work it down. The door is nice, swings wide and has a nice lock. The panel did get bent when my son tried to force it open wide before I had the dirt cleared where it would swing. It probably took us about 3 hours off and on to get it put together. All in all, it will do a good job of housing our chicken supplies and other miscellaneous items from the garage. ... show more

I have been a huge fan of Scott for their fertilizer and lawn seeds, but this is the first time I actually used some of their lawn equipment. As excited I was to try this, it was a bit of a let down. The metal sheets for these are really thin and easy to bend and warp that makes it much more difficult than it should to have the holes line up, so it really does feel slightly cheap. In terms of assembly. As I mentioned, a lot of holes did not line up due to warping from the thin metal. The instructions for the most part are easy as most of the parts are labeled. I mentioned most as there were some parts that were not labeled that made it confusing and had to figure out that that was the part the instructions were referring to. It does take at least two people to put together; once you get the 4 walls up, you could manage to finish it yourself. There are support struts to stabilize it, but wish there were more to stabilize. I ended up with 2 extra support struts and can find in the instructions where those go, so ended up just mounting them. The roof support took the longest as I had major issues figuring it out. The finish product did end up holding up better than I was expecting prior to completion and fit great in the area I wanted. Overall, it gets the job done and did come out better than I was expecting, but was expecting some thicker panels. ... show more

Sure it's not going to be big enough to park the old combine in, but it's great for the lawnmower and yard tools. Prefect for a smaller yard or patio, and it blends in well and looks like it belongs.
