So for starters I am not automotive savvy. I own an 05 Chevy Malibu Classic -Base model, and had been looking into buying a car stereo for years. Just needed the right dash kit and this....is.... it. Works perfect with the pioneer MVH-290BT radio (with a lil modification---read on). For starters, this dash kit has the mounting holes exactly where the bolts are on my dash for the radio so that was easy. The chassis of he radio fits perfectly in place and with a lil adjustment with the inside tabs it stayed secured. The only issue I had was getting the radio to fit snugly in the dash kit. It fits perfectly but it was alil loose. To correct that I took the trim off the radio unit (popped the faceplate off and removed the trim), then reapplied the faceplate and secured it into the chassis. The dash kit comes with its own trim and I used that to secure the radio in place. Overall it fits and I like it ALOT. PROs: fits in my 2005 Chevy Malibu Classic. Easy installation. Supports single DIN radios. CONs: the brackets line up in the general area of where the bolts go to secure it, but had trouble getting a perfect fit. Still is secure but was difficult getting all three bolts threaded thru the hole... if that makes sense. ... show more

fits 2006 Chevy Silverado 1500 but doesn’t come with the correct side mounts to make the radio stay still. Had to cut the crap out of my bracket to get it to fit properly without it wiggling. Super crappy design

It's cheap and it fits the dash of my '03 Impala perfectly, which is great, but those are about the only high points. It comes with nothing at all to physically secure the deck into the dash kit. Most others, like the Metra version of this same kit, come with brackets that hold the deck's sleeve in place. The only reason I didn't rate it lower for this is because I'm technically inclined enough to fabricate a workaround without much trouble. Other quirks: The CD pocket has small holes at the back, so if any small objects fall into the pocket, they'll end up rattling around inside your dash unless you cover the holes before installation. Also, the trim ring looks nice but it's designed to be universal, and it's not a perfect fit for my JVC deck. It works fine, but I had to take a Sharpie and darken some exposed aluminum on the deck that was visible through the gaps. It would be better if the kit's bezel was flat across so I could use the trim ring that came with the deck. All in all I made it work fine, I only had to do it once, and nobody who looks will ever be able to see its flaws. So I guess I'm satisfied enough. ... show more
