  • As close to perfect as is possible
I got this scooter because I wanted to start commuting to work in an eco friendly way on my city's trails. I had a lot of worries about how this scooter would work for me- I have a few challenges to my commute and those challenges made me nervous. My city has a LOT of hills. A ton. I'm not small, I'm 230 pounds and after adding in all the stuff I carry, it could go to 240-250. I was concerned about the amount of time I'd be able to spend riding on one charge, because it took about 40 minutes to get to my work on the city's electric scooters (Bird, Veo and Spin). Those were locked to 15mph, with clunky and expensive apps. They usually made it up hills okay, but the huge hill to my street, none could handle. It's the kind of hill that makes you sweat after three steps. I have no idea what incline it is, but it's insane. I have had CARS stall out a bit, roll backwards etc at the stop sign at the top. This scooter makes quick work of that massive hill. It's so fast. On a full charge, it can go 15mph up the insane hill. On 20% battery, it goes about 10mph. So far I've never had an issue with it making it up ANY hill. This is with me being 230, and carrying 20 ADDITIONAL pounds. My commute, which was 40 minutes before, is now 30 minutes thanks to the extra speed. Highest I've pushed this scooter using acceleration on flat ground is 22mph, but going down hills it has recorded faster. I am usually about 60% charge after the 30 minute trip to work when I gun it and drive fast when I have the opportunity. If I drive miss daisy, and stick to the speed limit of 15mph, it is typically about 75% charge. I like that you can make it more efficient for speed OR battery life. This means, I can drive to work and back without ever charging it... a huge success. As soon as I kick off, it accelerates with me. By far the fastest to pick up on my own movement compared to the city scooters. This makes a difference when waiting for traffic- I want to be able to gun it as soon as a car stops for me at a light, lol. Great handling around curves. The brakes are definitely acceptable. With scooters you don't want the breaks to work TOO well, since sudden stops can catapult you over the handlebars, and the app gives you choices about how effective you want them to be. I haven't experimented with this much, so I can't attest to how less or more powerful breaks affect the riding experience. I really like the way the acceleration works. It's super intuitive and once again, better than city scooters. It knows when I want to coast. It knows when I want to gun it. It's sensitive enough to let me follow walking people politely for a time. First couple days I stuck with the limited speed mode, but after getting more confident I now just keep it at the mode that gives more choices. I feel more safe on roads knowing I can get up to 22mph, and it's brilliant for the paved trails. I do find it to be rather heavy and cumbersome, I'm female and I do some bodybuilding, but I just have to get stronger. The option to clip it to itself makes it slightly less cumbersome but only in some situations. Build quality, highly satisfied. It feels solid, and premium. This is my new baby and I love it lol. ... show more

  • Powerful, sturdy and incredibly fun
Wow. I had bought a $200 electric scooter but quickly realized it didn't have the power or range I needed, so I bought this and the difference is night and day. This thing is built like a tank and pulls like a freight train. It is fast and doesn't lose steam up hills, it just flies right up them like they aren't there. On a full charge it is genuinely fast, and the power remains strong as the battery runs down as well, though top speed decreases a bit. Range is terrific too. This thing feels like a steal for $600. My $200 scooter feels like a $200 scooter. This feels like it should cost over $1,000. It's like going from driving a 4 cylinder beater to a V8 Mercedes. It is pretty substantial, it's big and fairly heavy, so if you're planning on carrying it around, keep that in mind. It is amazing though, well worth the cost as it is a much better value than the cheaper ones. Update: After one month and 250 miles, I love this thing. It's been great ... show more

  • DANGEROUS Downgraded Trash!!! (My 2nd Climber)
I originally wrote the below (5 Star) review on August 12, 2023 for the Climber I bought on August 10,2023. However, that Climber got stolen from me on December 16, 2024, so I bought another Climber on December 18,2024 that I will review. August 12, 2023 Review of Original Climber: I have owned a Hiboy KS4 Pro for the last 10 months which is my 1st electric scooter, and it's been a completely maintenance-free workhorse that accelerates slowly but can ultimately get me (at 210 lbs) up to its 19mph maximum. Plus, it has solid, non-puncturable tires (again, maintenance-free), but even WITH having a dual-suspension, the ride is still a bit rough. Now, however, even though there are no hills here in Miami, I wanted a new scooter with some REAL acceleration "off the line" and a higher top-end speed. The InMotion Climber is it! In Sport mode, this BEAST launches me out of the hole and quickly has me up to 24mph! Extremely solid build quality, good brakes, and the black/orange combo looks really sharp, too. I added the Vitalismo scooter bag and HornIt 140db horn to the scooter for practicality and safety, respectively, as I ride on the streets to my various destinations. The Climber doesn't have any shocks/suspension (which I believe to be its only "miss"), but due mostly to its rubber tires (and even without having shocks/suspension) it's still a much smoother ride than my KS4 Pro. Also, you DO have to download the App (and very patiently wait for the slow-arriving code), in order to initially get the scooter into Sport mode, choose your braking power percentage, select mph or kph, etc. However, it's not a big deal and I've never HAD to use the App again, although I have chosen to do so in order to adjust the braking percentage, electronically lock the scooter, and check my scooter's total mileage. Anyway, I highly recommend the Climber at $999, or even its $1,299 retail price (although I was very lucky and got it for only $849 on an Amazon Lightning Deal)! February 18, 2025 Review of my new Climber: Total Trash!! 1. The brakes have been downgraded SUBSTANTIALLY!!! They barely stop the scooter at all and they squeal like crazy! This is SERIOUSLY DANGEROUS!!! 2. The motor has been downgraded SUBSTANTIALLY! My old Climber had serious torque on throttle engagement and could consistently max out at 23mph even when it was over 1 year old. But on my new Climber, even brand new in December, the motor is a torque-less dog that can barely get moving and only goes up to 21mph (and I'm still the exact same person, same weight, same roads)!! AWFUL!!! 3. The handlebars are MUCH thinner and less secure feeling in the hands! Bad! 4. Turn Signals have been added (so that is the ONLY good thing about my new Climber). Overall, TERRIBLE!! NOT Recommended!! BUY SOMETHING ELSE!!! ... show more
