I primarily wanted a bike that would supply almost everything a MTB could without the look of one. I live in a mountain area so I definitely wanted something with grip and decent bounce on it if I were to hit a bump or a rock, which happens often. It's clear this bike is primarily for cruising though a mostly flat road because the seat has absolutely no cushioning, so I felt each and every single bump on my way, so I had to replace the seat for a different one, which fixed the issue. The pedals are also fairly small so I feel like my feet aren't fully on the pedal when I'm starting off, but I wear shoes with big soles so that could just be me. That being said, this bike has a lot of bang for your buck, decent impact resistance and bounce, rode really well under rainy situations and the fenders kept my legs dry. The frame feels pretty sturdy and the bike has been able to handle pretty heavy loads considering I like to go grocery shopping with it. The gear changes available have been more than enough for daily commuting through hills and rocky roads without much issue. Overall I really love this bike and I adore the design and color of it, it feels like a nice sturdy bike that doesn't have to be an ugly bulky thing to do what I need, which is daily commuting through less than ideal roads. Fair warning if you're going to rude anywhere with bumps get a different seat because the one supplied feels like a block of plaster with leather over it.

This is a very good bike for the price. Some people are like 'oh it took only a few hours to put together', but I am a student who has a flexible schedule and I can say it took longer than a few hours. The initial assembly took a few hours - around 4 - but the tweaking took a few days. When I first put it together I felt glorious - like I had finished building a colosseum. I decide to take this work of art out for a spin at 11pm. Once I get outside, I get onto the sidewalk and prepare for take off. I mount the bike and immediately take a dive as both the seat and handle bar give in. It was painful.. for my ego. So I go back inside and tinker away. Then come out and hooray, the seat is kind of stable, but the handlebar is shaky. I throw caution to the wind and start riding.. or peddling.. then I see that the chain is like not in place or something? I'm not a mechanic. But I use some of the wisdom my father passed on to me to fix the chain (align it with the gear.. it was not hard or complicated lol.. but if you're not expecting it, then you feel like a fool).. anyway, I am telling you all of this so that when you buy this awesome bike, you won't feel disheartened by the fact that it might not take a minute to put together. Also, don't go to a repair person until you just need it to be tightened.. because you'll have a much better experience if you know why your bike messes up and how to fix it easily when it does. I ended up going to get it tightened because the seat and handlebar war just not tightening with my arm. So the guy who did it also gave my bike a check up and totally validated my pride by saying I did a great job. He only charged $5 for labor (but others did the same for free). Another bike repair man filled my bike with air and also adjusted the seat for me, since I had it a bit high. A lot of people will give you advice on how to sit on your bike, but don't change all the time. Test it out, and if it feels weird and to laborious then go back. Sometimes the advice is for efficiency, but a lot of times it given by veteran bikers who found their way after years of biking. anyway, good luck.

My husband and I have done a lot of research on bikes and we finally settled on two Schwinn bikes. He purchased a cruiser, and I chose this hybrid. I used to ride a beach cruiser in college and it was awesome. It had gears and rode smoothly, but was pretty difficult to ride over hills because of its heavy weight and thicker tires. I did a lot of distance biking, and although I loved my cruiser, it was not viable for distance. Upon arrival, my bike was in great condition. There was nothing missing, nor broken spokes, no dented rim. I didn't experience any issues. It took me and my husband maybe 20 minutes to put together (with two toddlers running around!). Assembly is easy peasy. Also, I am 5'2 and 125lbs for reference. A few factors determined why I chose this hybrid bike. Gears: this bike has 7 gears. It’s enough to get me over steeper heels, as well as riding comfortably or with resistance on flat ground. These gears only stuck a few times when I first rode it. After a few times scaling back-and-forth with the gears, they stopped sticking and now switch smoothly and quickly. Frame: this bike is light weight. It isn’t as light as a rode bike, but it’s definitely a lot lighter than a cruiser. I am able to easily carry my bike, if needed. While riding, its light weight frame enables me to ride a bit quicker and smoothly with less effort…even with my gears up. The seat is adjustable so you can lower or raise it as needed. I'm short, so I like to stay closer to the ground. Tires: The tires are pretty thin. I would say about a third of the thickness of a cruiser. The tires are thin, but unlike road bikes, they are full of air so I can just put it on the pump if needed. The thin tires allow me to ride faster and turn easier. Brakes: The front brakes merely slow you down. I don’t really use them, but they could be handy. The back brakes are what I use and work very well. Granted, if you mess with them then they might not work properly. The brakes are on the handle bars, and this is great. I don’t like pedal brakes. Fenders: it comes with a front and back fender to protect you from getting dirty! The bike has a flat surface on the back where you can put a basket or something to store your stuff. Not a necessity, but this is nice and convenient. I love the color. I anticipated the color to be a little darker, but the mint is truly pretty. I love the white seat and handle bar grips. However, the seat is one of the most uncomfortable seats I have ever ridden on. It is a hard rock under your butt. It’s awful. I really need to replace it with something with more cushion. I hate the seat! Overall, I love my bike and am so pleased with it…except for the seat. This bike gave me what I needed between a road bike and my old beloved cruiser. I would recommend purchasing this bike…and purchasing a different seat.

Arrived without damage, one little scratch on the frame, but not noticeable. This bike is for my wife and daughter and the yellow color is really nice. I assembled bikes before and have some tools, bike stand... Took around 2 hrs to get everything right. Nothing major, but the front wheel needed to be trued, breaks adjusted, fender aligned. Derailer worked surprisingly well - I didn't need to do anything with it. It rides very nice, relaxing posture. Definitely, girls' bike - gear shifter twist have uphill, straight, and downhill marks instead of numbers. I laughed, but my wife liked it - numbers never made sense for her on the previous bike. Overall, for $300 - it's a bargain. Yes, the parts fill somewhat cheap: breaks, derailer, tires, but it works and I doubt people who buy this will be riding it every day. So with occasional recreational use - it might last for a long time. For people complaining about assembly and that bike comes without tools. The bikes are not toys or shelves from Ikea, they are closer to vehicles when you consider the danger to yourself and others when you ride them. Just go to your local bike shop and let them put it together and adjust it.

This bike is awful. I order this bike in August before my first day to school at college on a big campus. My roommates being engineers, put the bike together for me since to be honest I've never put a bike together. First day of school come around and a block away from my house my bikes sprocket just shears off and rams into my pedal. Turns out the sprocket they gave me was plastic and not metal. So I call Amazon for some answers on what to do they send me to Schwinn not telling me if the bike was defected I need to contact the seller. So I do that and put a new part on and turns out the part I got is the wrong one and my chain is bent from the sprocket ramming into it. I wasn't able to call because I had school and work. I finally got a new chain but it keep falling off the gears and my back brake pad rubs my tire which slows me down getting to school. So now I'm trying to get my money back but apparently I needed to contact the seller in the first month when everything happened that no one told me about or included when ordering this bike.

If you are thinking about getting this bike read this. It’s exact Seat height goes from 32” to 38”. It can hold a basket hanging off the back, and the kickstand works fine. The seat is uncomfortable for most people, for me it is ok. Color is lighter than pictured. Assembly if you don’t know how is very hard, but if you want to try THE video below this helps ALOT. It is a beautiful and wonderful bike, I would highly recommend it. However, when done assembling you should definitely take it to a shop to get safety checked. Don’t believe the other reviews, it will only break if you do it wrong. Any dents, scratches, broken parts is all a mailing issue, not the sellers. Again, get it checked at a shop and don’t trust any other reviews, it is purely bad luck if it comes damaged, mine is fine, but don’t tell others not to get it if someone dropped it while shipping. Except for the seat, ordering a cushion now. I was lucky and my bike is perfect. What I did is I followed the video (it is slightly different but it still got it together) then for only 10 dollars I took it to a shop and got it SAFETY CHECKED. they looked at the gears, the wheels, the brakes, etc. This ensures that you put it together correctly and it won't break when you use it, again, only 10 bucks. DONT BELIEVE THE BAD REVIEWS, this goes for almost all things on amazon, those people got unlucky, THAT IS IT. you take a gamble on everything you buy about quality of shipping, and when it broke while riding, its because they didn't get it safety checked and that one bolt or screw they didn't do right broke it, so that is it, Ive noticed the price has gone up from when I got it, but it is still DEFINENTLY worth it

Yes I'd recommend it, but buyer beware. First things first, the bike came much sooner than Amazon originally stated (which is great because I wanted it before leaving for college). It was supposed to take a month or so, but in reality it only took a week to two weeks. So, today I was delighted to discover the box on my porch upon returning from an errand. However, as I approached it, I noticed something VERY alarming. The box was opened. & I don't just mean that someone tampered with it. No. The package had ZERO tape or even evidence of tape. I peeked inside, and there was a second box nested inside, nearly the same size as the outer box. The nested box (that actually contained all the parts) had ZERO evidence of tape as well. As my neighbor and I started putting it together, we seemed to have been missing a screw, which likely got lost in shipment. Now I can't attach the front metal tire fender. It's not a huge deal because I can replace the parts and the fender is not an integral component; however, this situation could've been much worse. I am alway satisfied with Amazon's Prime packaging, but this was a major disappointment. Secondly, the picture on here is way off. The bike is not the aqua color shown. Like other reviewers have said, it's a VERY pale mint/sage color. Schwinn is correct to call it sage in the description, but Amazon needs a better picture because this one is misleading. I personally find the color charming as it adds to the vintage look. Thirdly, some other reviewers have stated the tires are 26". I don't know what model they wound up with, but my tires say 28". As a 5'3" girl with short legs, this initially concerned me, but the seat and handlebars adjust well, so there is not a height problem for me nor for those who are a couple inches shorter than me. Fourthly, the bike had some neon pink marks that won't come off on the paint near the front tire. The marks are small and not in a noticeable location though. The white, faux leather handlebars are very cushy, but have grungy marks. I'm not too upset about this though because I think you have to expect a little wear when you have a product like this shipped halfway across the country. On to the positives. Overall, this bike appears to be of great quality for the price. The 7 speeds are just enough for neighborhood/street/light trail riding (once you run through them a few times to loosen them up), the seat is cushiony enough for my petite self, assembly wasn't too difficult because it only requires a few tools, an hour of time, and the ability to attach the front wheel and fender, handlebars, pedals, and seat. I will warn you that the instructions do not appear to explain how to attach the fender. The bike came with fully aired narrow 700c tires and the chain ready, so I could hop on after assembly. With it all said and done, Amazon needs to fix a few issues with the image/description and shipment of this product, but Schwinn has made an affordable, adorable, durable bike for vintage-loving gals or guys who desire a stylish, practical means of transportation.

As other reviewers have stated, the color is not a pale teal/ mint like in the photo, but more of a pale sage nearly white. The numbers look rubbed off of the gear shift a little bit. I ordered the bike on a Wednesday and received it by Friday. The seat and handle bar covers are bright white and get dirty easily, but they are very-well cushioned. The pedals are more of a creamy/ off-white color and are kind of a cheap plastic, but they're fine. I would recommend having a bike shop build it or do a tune up. I built mine, but there was a nut that was stripped that would have made the pedals fall off, and it was slightly bent in a few places (fenders, spokes, etc.) from shipping. I got it tuned up and aligned at a local bike shop for $60. It took them about 1.5 hours. -------------------- (Updated review after 2 weeks) For those who want to know: I purchased the "Firmstrong Classic Beach Cruiser Bicycle Bell" in chrome finish. It's not too loud, which is great if you have to ride on the sidewalk, but don't want to frighten people. I also have the "BV Bicycle Light Set Super Bright 5 LED Headlight, 3 LED Taillight, Quick-Release". The headlight is really great-- I like the second flashing setting best. The tail light fell off on the second day I used it, though, and is lost forever. I also purchased the "Nantucket Bike Basket Co Kid's Lightship Classic Basket Stained" for the front, and two "Nantucket Bike Basket Co Adult Classic Lightship Collection Stained Bicycle Baskets" for the back. They're awesome! This is the first day that I have used them and I have received a lot of compliments. I took the bike with baskets to my local farmer's market today and they were super handy (photo). The only thing that doesn't fit in the baskets is my 17" laptop. My bike helmet, lunch box, purse, and other items fit great! They're a bit expensive, though, but very nice. Hope all of this information helps!
