  • Great Quality Bike for the Price..
Size: 27.5-Inch Wheels Style: Aluminum Frame and Disc Brakes Color: Yellow
I think the bike is very good..I already added a a few aftermarket parts but that's my style and also the bike is very light weight and I'm a big guy roughly 6'2" and around 230 but in a good way lol but I can't wait to ride it and get out there. I put it together without any directions I mean but I've been doing that for a long time but the look is beautiful as you can see and no missing parts everything was in the box so but great bike I was expecting something totally different but I'm actually beyond surprised at the looks and just quality. That's all I got. ... show more

  • Nice bike
Size: 29-Inch Wheels Style: Aluminum Frame and Disc Brakes Color: Black/Green
It went together easily in less than an hour. Make sure the front fork is forward or the pedals will hit the front tire. Tires are both a little soft so it needs air before I ride it. The rear wheel didn't come with a clamp regular bolts hold it on. The front had the clamp. No scratches out of box. Rims are a little off with a slight wobble. They could have spent more time with the spoke tool fixing the run out. So far out of the box I'm happy with it. I did replace the pedals with a nice aftermarket set. After riding it a bit my A$$ is a bit sore so I ordered another seat. Overall I'm nearly 60 and didn't ride a bike in 30 years. I like my new 29" Schwinn. It will be used for casual rides with my wife. ... show more

  • Good but needs work!
Size: 27.5-Inch Wheels Style: Aluminum Frame and Disc Brakes Color: Yellow
I love the bike, actually light weight and a great around city bike that seems to be very accomplished for street and road use. If you don't care for the feel of and actual road style bike this one should be right up your alley. Love it but I may go with a set of tires with a less aggressive tread pattern thst work well on road and dirt. Saving my bike with full suspension for trail riding. There are some bugs Schwinn needs to work out though. The front derailleur was really sloppy. Needed to be adjusted 3 times before it set right. But noticed I would have problems after a while with shifting. Set it up and readjusted the high and low set screws. They keep backing out with time. So a little locktite and they are fine now but it is a problem that should be looked at maybe some nuts to lock them in place from factory. Other than that I love the bike. Came early and was easier to assemble then my more expensive bike.. I would definitely buy it again but I might go with some aftermarket parts. Who knows where it will take me. And with the custom paint color it doesn't get lost amonst others.... ... show more

  • Shockingly poor quality.
Size: 27.5-Inch Wheels Style: Aluminum Frame and Disc Brakes Color: Yellow
Extremely low quality for Schwinn. Schwinn bikes used to be a decent brand. The felt cheap and flimsy from the very first ride. Does not ride straight. It will veer on it's own. Alignment is off everywhere. Chains and wheel rattle. The gear shift is also erratic, does not engage fully half the time. Cannot believe how little quality control went into this. ... show more

  • Good looking bike with good components
Bikes are ridiculously expensive from COVID lockdowns and the worst inflation in 40 years. Most bike shops had no entry level bikes or complete pieces of China Junk. This was the least expensive bike that I could find that was safe enough for my granddaughter to ride. It was easy to assemble and adjust. I have a bike stand so it was extra easy to assemble. It is made in China but good materials and build quality including routing the cables through the frame. It has disc brakes but they are manual not hydraulic. They seem to work fine but are disappointing once you have ridden a bike with hydraulic brakes. The color is good, it came with all of the parts and most importantly, our granddaughter loves it. ... show more

  • Great customer support on lemon: I ordered 2 identical bikes-one had defective freewheel
Size: 26-Inch Wheels Style: Aluminum Frame and Disc Brakes Color: Red/Black
We are loyal Schwinn users -- My 2 sons have thoroughly enjoyed previously purchased 24" Schwinn Thrasher mountain bikes from a LBS -- those Schwinn Thrashers have have been well used on family MTB vacations to Moab, Texas, Colorado, Wisconsin -- those Schwinn Thrashers have held up well for the 2 years before my sons out grew them. So when my sons out grew those 24" Schwinns, I bought 2 Schwinn High Timber 26" Mountain Bikes for this Christmas. These 26" Schwinn HIgh Timber mountain bikes are essentially the same components as the 24" Schwinn Thrasher (except those are V-brakes). We are now assembling these Christmas Gift bicycles and I'm encountering some things you should know about. The bikes are a good value BUT we got a bad freewheel on one of them -- the freewheel grinds (sounds metallic) even after oiling it. A phone call to Schwinn CUstomer SErvice and they told me they will ship a new freewheel by FedEx that I will receive in 5-7 days. That's Great.... 5 stars. SEPARATELY THOUGH..... you should know that any mail order bicycle will required assembly (which you probably knows) AND ADDITIONAL LUBRICATION & ADJUSTMENT. The following will need correction in addition to assembly: - disc brake caliper arm needs to be readjusted (two hex screws) so it doesn't bind - brake cable needs to be tightened so the brake lever doesn't fully compress (bottom-out) upon braking. The best way to do this is to tighten the cable at the caliper by loosening and re-tightening the hex screw. - wheel bearings on both front and rear hubs will need to be re-packed with grease and the race bearing cones correctly adjusted. - Rear Derailluer HIgh and Low Gear fine tuning adjustments. - Front Derailluer HIgh and Low Gear fine tuning adjustments. The headset and bottom brackets appear to have to be lightly packed also, but given they have significantly less rotation than the wheel hubs, it is OK to leave it alone. ... show more

  • Updated Review 2024, Good bike but with some caveats
Size: 27.5-Inch Wheels Style: Aluminum Frame and Disc Brakes Color: Yellow
Update in 2024 I still like this bike, it has aluminum frame, disc brakes front and back, smooth derailleurs most of the time. Nice looking frame. Nice aluminum wheels. However, there are a few things I noticed over the past two years and upgraded to make the ride smooth. 1. I have replaced the BB with more modern sealed BB. Why? The pedals stutters and there was knocking sound somewhere, you can feel it wants to pause at specific angles and not very smooth, this was done only after 40-50 miles over the course of 1.5 years. Cost $30 including tools. Schwinn support was useless in finding BB that is compatible. Despite the spindle length of 68x126mm on the existing bike I had to get 68x122.5mm BB to ensure front derailleur compatibility. 2. Pedals. After BB replacement, I was still getting this very annoying knocking noise especially when going uphill. Didn't help but the new pedals are so smooth, so I kept them. 3. Wheels. I was finally able to narrow the source of noise to rear wheel and visually see the freewheel wobbles back and forth when the wheels are spinning, something inside was wrong. The knocking sound came on and off likely due to pawl sometimes disengage even if constantly pedaling. The quality of freewheel is quite bad, not what I expect from ~$450 bike. Note I weigh about 170 and I do not do jump or off road mostly on road with some light hilly road. Cost ~$200 including two wheels, new cassettes, spacers and tools. If I only upgrade the free hub, it would only cost $30-$50 but requires rebuilding the wheel. What's disappointing was a "mountain bike" manufactured in 2022 still uses freewheel that can easily break. It is quite cheap. This is not a one hundred dollar bike you buy from Walmart. Come on Schwinn 4. Some other things I replaced, the cheap rubber hand grips $15, replace the uncomfortable saddle $30. 5. Some other things about to break, both shifters are about to die, especially when twisting to the highest tension. Review in 2022 The bike itself is pretty good. It rides well, shifts smoothly and brakes are very responsive. However, there are assembling issues that re not so beginner friendly, mainly in three areas: the derailleurs, the brakes and the wheels. The derailleur shifts out of the box but skips gears thus requires adjustments. Both H/L limit screws and the cable adjuster were adjusted which costed about 40-60min. The router of the rear brake isn’t perfectly flat this makes scratch noise, I had to bend it slightly to fix the issue. The most time consuming part was trueing the wheel, the rear wheel wobbles out of the box, I had to purchase wheel spoke tension tools to adjust the tension and true the wheel. All in all, I like the bike after all the necessary adjustments but it would be great if all these issues were addressed prior shipping to customers. ... show more

  • The most beautiful bike:)
Great quality bike. Feel good when people on the road peeking my bike:) There are complains that the fork is loose. Mine is loose originally. But following the instruction, I managed to get it as tight as I want. I agree with some complains that the derailleurs are not high quality. Sometimes some gear of the rear derailleurs have little noise no matter how I adjust the index though no functional issue. Maybe new model year can be improved. ... show more
