They are hard plastic that is meant to go under the insoles. My insoles were not removable so I bought foam inserts and put them under that... worked fine.

They weren’t what I expected, but they definitely made my foot more comfortable throughout the day. Instead of putting them under the sole lining, I put a thin foot insert over it and that helped to cushion it. They are reasonably priced and they came super quick and they are made in the USA!!!

These things slide around - from side to side, and up and back in your shoe. Not a lot. Just enough to make it irritating and painful. They *do* come with velcro so you can adhere them to your shoe for a better fit...but that only works if you buy one for each pair of shoes, and at $30 a pop, that's too expensive for me. ... show more

If you watch the video and follow the directions that came with this, it tells you very clearly. You are to start out with one hour first. Then work your way up to wearing them for two hours, the next day and so on until you reach an eight hour day. Long story short, I work in construction and have worn red wing steel toed boots for the last 25 years. Recently, I was having so much heel pain on my left heel. I ended up going to the Doc on my break. They shot an x-ray and told me that I literally have a posterior and inferior bone spur. But that’s just a secondary symptoms. Long story short, I was told that insoles are the way they treat these. Because I have plantar fasciitis. Now first of all, last Wednesday I quit wearing my steel toe boots and I switch to a Saudex (Amazon) steel toed safety shoe. Looks like a tennis shoe. And very comfortable. And Thursday and Friday were much better but still very painful. Waking up Sunday night with my foot completely swollen and in pain. I missed work Monday. Which is not acceptable. I begin researching on the Internet frantically what to do when I came across these. Long story shorter, these are amazing. Last night I wore them for an hour and a half around the house because I was cooking and doing things. Today at work I wore them for 2 1/2 hours as instructed basically. And I would say that my pain has been cut down by almost 75%. And I’m still aware that it’s there. But I have strong hopes and will do a follow up review in the next couple weeks. These are worth the money and if you follow the directions as they’re stated, you won’t have the problems that other reviewers have written about. I walked all around the jobsite this morning for 2 1/2 hours with no Velcro attached, and they never slipped or moved. ... show more

I have rapidly degenerating talocalcaneal coalition. My ankles are extremely painful even just to walk and the left foot is also now painful with plantar fasciitis. Because my right foot is starting to deform and collapse, my right knee is also having problems. I have tried 10 different shoes, 5 different shoe inserts, steroid injections, stretches, rest NSAIDs etc.... All with minimal relief. Today was the first day using these shoe inserts. My pain is less than half of what it would normally be at this time in my work day! I am so thrilled with these, I am ordering another pair! If you place them under the soles of your shoes, they are quite comfortable and do not seem hard at all. I think it's the rigidity of these that makes them work so well. returning as these would not stay in place and you could feel the hard edge where they ended. I would look at superfeet instead.
