This was such a steal for $200. That's the price of a JBL Charge 6 and this has 240 watts of power that creates a sound so much bigger and full-bodied than little portable BT speakers. It has great bass and power to fill a very large room. If you listen to lossless or fully restored songs, you'll be blown away, even using BT. Arrived in double boxed packaging, speaker was in a Samsung box and included the power cord, remote, instructions, and batteries. No damage to the speaker and super easy to hook up multiple devices via BT. The lights look awesome too. So glad I took a chance and bought this despite some of the negative reviews. ... show more

I think these speakers are perfect for a small party. Not CRAZY loud but certainly loud enough. Solid image clarity - not muddy to my ear. The lighting options are super fun. I think these are priced well. Easy enough to connect to and to link 2 for stereo. Bluetooth, wired, USB. Easily movable (no hernia). Very stable (no toppling). I'm a bit of a Samsung fan, mind you.     • Great quality, could be louder?

Really good quality sound. My only two critiques are the following: the speaker linking (I got 2 of these since I got them on sale) could be a little better, especially at distance since the connection is either not super strong or is easily impacted by wireless interference (Wifi?) and the last one being that the speakers only get to their fullest potential if plugged into an AC outlet. I understand that the battery would likely drain within 4 hours vs 15-20 hours at 95-100% volume but I still would prefer to manage that on my own. Address those two things and this speaker is a home run. Is it worth $500+? No, I'm not quite there - especially because the battery could be even better at that price and I think Samsung need to try to make this a 30+ hour battery performer (@ 50%-60% volume that is) if you're going to charge that much money. All of those things said, great sound quality - strong enough mid and high performance to have music come thru clear AND the bass is pretty well shaped and present whether indoors or outside. I plan to get a small generator for camping or festival usage so that I can run the pair of these that I bought for an entire extended weekend and not have to deal with batteries dropping off. Great speaker for a gathering, party, or for just cleaning around the house. The lights make it a conversation piece and not just an obtrusive black box in the corner. Sound quality was also excellent with multiple preset settings for varying listening modes. THE GOOD: At its retail price point of $550ish only the sound quality hits or exceeds the mark. I own both the JBL Partybox 310 and the Samsung MX-ST50B. The JBL wins in every major category. THE ABYSMAL: The Soundtower app is awful and legitimately unusable. If you are reading the reviews that say it is bad and you're thinking like I was that people are probably being too picky... STOP... The app is worse than can even be described by words. It literally has no redeeming quality, none... And you can't update the firmware through the app like most other Bluetooth speakers with apps. Literally the only benefit to the app is that you can tell when bass boost is on, as there is no indicator light on the speaker. THE TOLERABLE: • The lights are alright, but underwhelming. • The master volume is controlled by the speaker only (or speaker remote), from there you can raise or lower the volume through your Bluetooth connected device, but only up to the max volume that you've set the speaker to. Not a deal breaker, but a definite buzz kill. It would be nice to have full control of the volume from your phone. • No battery life indicator. • Output drops from 240 watts to ~90 watts when relying only on battery power. • No bass boost on/off indicator light. • No native way to adjust the EQ. At $200-250 the Soundtower MX-ST50B would be a no brainer... At its retail price point, it does not compare to the JBL Partybox 310. ... show more

This speaker is great! I had been looking for tower speakers and this one didnt disappoint. I currently have 3 devices BT'd to it and they work (nearly) seamlessly. Sometimes Alexa and my tablet fight over "custody". Other than that, its a solid speaker. I plan to buy more as they since with each other for a more immersed experience.
