Super expensive but sounds great! I don't regret buying it at all. But it is way more expensive than it needs to be. Battery life lasts about 3 hours when cranked up all the way. The best thing is that you can continue to use it while it is plugged in. It is waterproof and does float. Anytime it gets dirty i just rinse it off. But beware it will continue to drain water out of it for hours so don't set it on a surface that it will ruin after you get it wet. Sound quality is very good. Bass is strong and it is very loud. If I am in the garage with the doors closed you can here it in the street so don't under estimate it. Also you have to use the app to set it up which was kinda of dumb but it does allow you to tweak the sound which was a very nice feature. you will notice though it lags a bit when connecting when you turn it on and when it disconnects when you shut it off which is no big deal but definitely can be improved upon. Over all for a portable speaker system there isn't really anything out there that can touch this for sound quality, durability or how loud it can go while still have clarity. This is probably why JBL charges a serious premium for it. You will also notice it does have some weight to it so it is not something you would want to carry around all day. I also notice it does improve the sound a bit if you leave it plugged in while using it is you are going to listen to it real loud. If you buy it, you wont regret it. I sure don't. We purchased this portable stereo several years ago. The quality is outstanding. The value for the money is a little high but you get what you pay for it. It’s a little heavy although very well worth it. The sound is awesome.

Not going to lie I was a little nervous spending a few hundred bucks on a Bluetooth speaker, but I was pleasantly impressed with what I got. Build quality is excellent, very sturdy and has some weight to it. You definitely get what you pay for. Sound quality is good, I'm a bit of an audiophile so I'm over critical on sound quality but for your average(+) music lover, the sound is great at a wide range. I haven't tested the water resistant capability, but judging by the build quality, I would trust this out in light rain. ... show more

We are big JBL fans in our house. We love this speaker so much it is so loud. It sounds so clear. The only thing is that it’s kinda heavy but it is big so the weight makes sense.

This really is a great speaker. I like a lot about it. Its beautiful, heavy, solid. The sound coming out is high quality and crystal clear even at high volume settings. Having said that, the other reviews say things like "Monster Bass" and "Rivals a 10 inch subwoofer" seem a bit over the top for me and where I have to respectfully disagree. Im not going to claim to be an audio specialist with 40 years of experience in the field. But I know my ears do not hear "Monster" bass. And maybe Ive been lucky with my 10in car setups in the past but this wont come REMOTELY close to any of the 10s Ive ever had. So please just manage expectations. For what it is, a waterproof boombox, it really does have incredible sound. I just wanted to put my experience and opinion out there. I have no buyers remorse. Great product. I purchased this item along with the Bose S1 Pro plus. This has a heavier sound than the Bose s1 pro plus but the Bose has a cleaner sound. The Bose can easily accept mics the JBL boombox cannot. The Bose is a lot more versatile. If you are willing to pay the price. The Bose is also a lot lighter but this is not a game changer. Would Rate five stars if it could accept mics ... show more

This thing rocks. It gets crazy loud, has clear sound, and a really long battery life (even if you are pounding the tunes). I also own a Sonos move. This thing is a clearly superior product. Now the Sonos has Wifi, Alexa/Google Assistant, smaller/lighter, and the Sonos ecosystem. In exchange, it has a much shorter battery life, doesn't sound as good, not nearly as loud, not a robust, not as easily portable. The Sonos is good for an indoor speaker/Alexa device, but if you want a true portable speaker, the JBL is a much better choice. ... show more
