I was almost thinking of upgrading my laptop, but the fog cleared from my head and realized that a high end tablet made more sense for my home and light business needs. I definitely wanted something to read a full page one screen with out scrolling. This size is perfect! I'm using Verizon for data, and connectivity here in the Twin Cities is perfect. The onboard SIM negates having a card installed for data. They just activate it on board. On home use it get a full week of general browsing, and i recharge when down to less than 20%. YOU WILL NEED TO BUY CHARGERS. I spent another $140 or so to acquire new chargers, frustrating but inevitable. Typical Samsung bloatware but really not too bad. I know I DO NOT use all the capability of this unit. My last was a Tab10. I always look for SD card capable, and this on is. Perfect travel size and I think the display is outstanding. I thought it was silly when I read people say it was good for streaming, but wow the speakers are great! I got this to use as a laptop and have not been disappointed since converting. The galaxy tab9+ is powerful and with Dex running I dont feel like I am missing out on any part of my old laptop experience. The second screen feature no longer works with my desktop since I haven't updated to windows 9, but there are good apps that can replicate the feature at a low cost. Tablet is wonderful but buyers need to know that AT&T will NEVER unlock it for you to use another wireless provider. Even though they say that it is eligible for unlock after two months or six months (depending on source) their system will not allow it. I upgraded from the 7S+! It is so much faster. Battery last much longer. I use it daily and the screen is big enough for me to see everything! It doesn't weigh much in my hand or lap. The performance is so much better.....outperforms the 7s+ by a mile. It is really a nice looking tablet! Charges so much faster too. The Verizon chip is useless, unless you want to make monthly payments! The TouchPad is very unresponsive with a standard softipped stylus, and the (included) fine point stylus is sometimes also unresponsive. The screen, the color and the chip speed are fine. The tablet does not come with a charger, which is unforgivable with a $1000 dollar tablet! What I did was install a 1tb Sandisk memory chip which can be installed with/instead of the Verizon chip. Edit: Especially annoying were the frequent blackouts if the pad could not detect your face in front of the tablet. ... show more
