I have a Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 with the S Pen, this Tab A7 has a touchscreen but no S Pen, just a regular touchscreen pen I use but I am an artist and needed the S7. This A7 is just a tad smaller, has the advantage of a headphone jack (my S7 does not!!!), and operates and performs just as well as its big brother. Terrific sound, gorgeous display, wonderful touchscreen, and is perfect for anyone that wants a fantastic tablet for general, daily use and at a great size and price. It works with any basic capacitive stylus and you can still do a lot with one of those but it is not included. It charges quickly, has a good length of use, and is an all-around great tablet. I was looking for an inexpensive tablet to play simple android games and use the web to pay bills. I sought out for a low-performance $100 tablet. These do not perform well. They have install problems or advertisements or poor processing power. This is one step up and works well, even to watch video. This is the lowest price table of acceptable quality I have found. I experienced two minor annoyances: It seems that it does not always go to sleep properly and then I have to charge it before I expect. I still haven't worked out if that's my fault for picking the wrong setting somewhere or not closing my apps. Still, it provides hours of battery when playing Hay Day. It is a little hard to use the login screen. When "waking up", it seems a little laggy. The number buttons for the security code are small. I mean it's a big screen, why is the keypad about 1/9 of the screen? ... show more

I've purchased many tablets for my kids over the years, and this is my favorite. All 4 of them have one of these now. The reasons are pretty simple. 1. USB C charging. No matter what I say, my kids will end up playing them while charging, and the micro usb with the design, tended to break. The even design of the USB C has eliminated this problem. 2. Size. We have had 7, 8 and 10. The 10 inch is just more engaging and interactive, especially for kids. I wasn't looking for portability, so these are the best size fit for us. 3. Brand. We are a samsung house. We have tried all different kinds of tablets and the "off" brands just have a lot of problems and dont hold up (plus it's harder to find cases for them, especially kids cases) This tablet has great battery life, has a decent internal memory and can hold a large memory card, has a great picture, and just works. We have 4 of them, from a month and a half old to a year and a half old and none of them have had any problems. If one were to break, I wouldn't hesitate to buy this tablet again, and I'm thinking about buying one for myself! ... show more

1 star is reserved for future update. Tab A7 review: I primarily use this tablet for reading and media consumption so thats what my experience will be from. Overall this is a great tablet in regards to its performance for reading and watching YouTube and movies. The screen size and display is great for watching videos, there is nothing fancy about it like the latest tab S series tablets but its gets the job done. In regards to reading the 1080p display and size of the screen is a joy to read off of. Coming from a 720p fire tablet 8, the letters look crisp and the screen real-estate is a major upgrade. The tablet is relatively light however it might be difficult to hold with one hand due to its size. The quad speakers on this tablet are loud and crisp so thats something I'm happy about since I feel more immersed in whatever I'm watching. The 3 gb of ram will get the job done if you don't have too many apps open (8 or more in my experience), even if you have a lot of apps running in the background the only noticeable difference would be a minor slow down when changing apps or opening a new app. The only real con which isn't a big deal is the storage on the tablet itself (32/64 gigs). If you're like me and have a ton of audio books, epubs, pdfs, and videos downloaded, I highly suggest spending a few extra bucks on a large capacity micro SD card. If you just stream videos, you should be fine on the amount of local memory. Overall I'd highly recommend this tablet, ESPECIALLY at the price of $180. If you are looking for something to simply watch YouTube or Netflix and maybe play some candy crush this is the tablet for you. If you are looking for an awesome budget upgrade from a fire tablet 7 or 8, I can't highly recommend this enough, this tablet is silky smooth and snappier compared to the fire 7/8. If you are a student that is looking for something more productive (note taking, excel, PowerPoint, writing on pdfs) i would not recommend this due to its lack of RAM and integrated stylus support, you're better off with the tab s6 lite/tab 6/ tab s5e ‐------‐-----------‐--------------- Compartive review: I had recently bought a Samsung tab A 10.1 3 gb variant (2019) and I've had it for about 3 weeks. I just recently found about this tablet and was curious about the differences so I went ahead and bought it due to its low price ($180) compared to the $200 i payed for the tab A. Biggest difference i noticed immediately was the speakers. WAY clearer sound and louder, due to the quad speaker set up. It leaves the muffled dual speakers in the tab A in the dust. I'd say the A7 has great sound quality for the price point. Compared to the Tab A, the A7 has a similar screen and a bit higher resolution, but the difference isn't significant. One thing I noticed was that the tab A had a bit of a red tint compared to the A7, I couldn't really tell unless I had the screens right next to each other. The A7 battery capacity is also a big bigger compared to the tab A, its slightly noticeable. ... show more

I wanted a brand-name tablet for surveillance camera monitoring and home automation, but didn't want to pay the Apple price. This was perfect. It also has fast charging capabilities. The only negative is that Samsung sent me a dinky 3-foot white cable with a charging block. Note that the tablet is black. The charging block stopped working within a week for some strange reason.
