I just moved to a new city and in setting up my new place to live, I decided that I was going to indulge myself and set up a serious home theatre. This screen is, obviously the centerpiece. I did a lot of research and it felt like this QLED television would hit the right balance of quality, size and price and it most definitely has. It's a gorgeous screen and the set up has it about 12 feet from my sofa so it literally feels cinematic! One thing I would suggest is that, if you're wanting to set it up for hardcore movie watching, dig through the settings and set picture mode to "Filmmaker Mode". It's stunning! I opted not to get a cable TV package here because I was planning on doing everything via streaming, so far, so good. My set up is an AppleTV 4K to handle all of the streaming with a stereo pair of Dolby Atmos capable HomePod 2 speakers which work perfectly for the room size. Now as to why I say "almost perfect" in the headline: What I really wanted (and, sadly, I'll never be able to get) is not a "smart TV". Since I want to be able to handle the streaming through an external device and have the sound running through external speakers, what I wish I could've bought was a stripped down version of this panel with no speakers and no "smart" features. Basically a very very high end large monitor. The TV is enabled with Alexa (which I don't use) and its own App Store (which I also don't use) and some decent speakers (which have never been used since I set up the system). I really wish TV manufacturers would make simple, high quality stripped down televisions with advanced picture settings but none of the rest of it. I purchased this to replace an excellent Toshiba 50" LED. I now have a Roku useable on my main screen so I wanted to go with a nice TV because I have started to watch more. Unboxing and setup took an hour or so. Be sure you use internet connectivity and get that whole process out of the way. One note; Amazon's specs say this screen weighs 36 pounds; product literature says 42. It is the bigger number. Two people will make things easier as you put the TV in place. After completing all of this I decided I would not wait to watch. That night I put in a movie for 90 minutes. I was suitably impressed. Picture needs more fine-tuning, but I did 2 things out of the box; set the picture mode to Movie, as even Standard seemed too bright. Then, set your color temp to Warm 2. Before I bought this, I consulted with my brother, who has 3 of these Q70 series TV's, including the 75" I watched. I wanted to understand what I was buying before I just jumped in, and 2.5 hours of experiencing his screen sold me. My space is smaller than his, so the 65" I bought is plenty large. We will see how things go as time goes on. I did purchase a 4-year protection plan. I also had a little time to adjust to Samsung's minimalist remote; it's not terrible. But I am a Logitech Harmony user, so I took the model info and had it all set before the TV arrived. It works flawlessly. I did note that the TV is smart enough that as soon as I power it on, it defaults to HDMI 1 where my Roku is connected, and powers it on. Cool. I also have a Polk soundbar. It isn't top of the line, but it is damn impressive for $100. I chose to connect via digital optical cable and am pleased. Right here on Amazon as well. The TV speakers are not bad, all things considered. But I was looking for more range and depth to my sound, and this delivers. I looked hard at a Yamaha too, who also make good stuff. Time will tell, and tonight I will run another movie. Lastly, I think Ambient mode is neat. It's like a screensaver for the TV, which I like to use as a safeguard against burn-in. Be away for 20 minutes or half hour, and the screen does power off. No problem with that. ... show more

All the hype for this platform is fairly accurate. This replaced a nine year old unit. The remote is a tad small (and so easily loseable) and has no number pad, but all functions can be accessed (just have to watch the screen) The picture is Awesome! Sound is bypassed.
