I purchased this television 5 weeks ago. I haven't watched it much. This white line all of a sudden appears on the screen. I immediately call for support and after some basic troubleshooting, I was advised that a technician may need to visit my home. This is ABSOLUTELY unacceptable. This television is brand new. NOT HAPPY AT ALL. Update: After demanding a FULL refund, I have NOT been issued one. A company picked up the defective television over a week ago. Every phone call that I've made to Samsung gets me different information. People will act slowly when your money is involved. Will NEVER purchase a Samsung product. The customer service is just as bad as their products.

What I did like - on initial installation the picture quality was very good. Vibrant colors and good picture definition. What I didn't like is everything else. The initial set-up is painfully slow, taking approximately 3x as long as other smart TVs I have installed. The user interface is not intuitive and the cheap remote did not make it any easier. I could have lived with that since the picture was good. Once I powered off my TV the nightmare started. The TV would not power back on using the remote (which is solar powered??) unless I unplugged the TV for several seconds and then plugged it back in. Once the TV was on I could not make any selections using the remote. I read up on the TV and many suggested re-synching the remote which I did - and that sometimes worked for one session until the TV was powered down again. The same problem happened every time the TV was turned off. Also, this TV does not have any apparent manual controls to help you navigate the menu's without the remote. Amazon did an amazing job in helping me return the TV and I bought a LG OLED TV instead - the installation went flawlessly, great user interface, it has a great picture and the remote has a ton of functionality.

So when you first unbox and turn on; the remote may need to be paired to the tv (it may turn on off but won't progress past the start up with smartphone or remote option if not paired; recommend smartphone setup scan onscreen qr code next screen). To pair hold down simultaneously the return/enter & play/pause buttons for 5 seconds just below the circular button, straddling the "home" button . See attached picture. Another tip. One day tv lost "smartness" connectivity. The fix was unplug tv power outlet for a few minutes.

Coming from a Sony and mostly TCL TVs.... to be honest, it's not really worth the extra money compared to the cheaper 4k TVs out there in the market. Really the resolution is nice, and you can allllllmost notice the difference in the resolution between the different tech used. But at the end of the day when you're watching, pretty much ANY CONTENT from a few feet away, you can see almost no difference. Now, the dealbreaker for me its the software. Right out of the box, it's not very intuitive, annoying, ADs (AD-effing ADs....... on a $1k+ TV)... and then, software pretty buggy, and difficult to use. Did I say it's not very intuitive? Then, on my first day it gave me error codes when trying to add apps (even Samsung Apps) I just gave up trying to download the eff-ing gallery app (which should come already come installed in the... oh wait, there is not an app launcher... or app store (you have to search apps yourself... (what about looking around for new apps))) Yes, TLC TVs don't come with the fancy Roku software, but at least I never, EVER, got error codes on my $350 55" 4K TVs on my first day (and yea, software is up to date) Anyways, I don't feel like returning this piece of junk, I'm buying a Roku device and plugging it into this junk. Thanks Samsung, now I know why Apple is always ahead of you.

The TV is great and I love it. Great picture quality, sound etc. Best TV I've ever had in those respects. The problem is the "solar powered" remote. Whoever thought of that should lose their job! Half the time when I go to us it it won't work because it's out of power. I finally bought a charging cord for it, but even then it doesn't always work. The TV is a doorstop without a working remote. For as much as the TV costs, why did they cheap-out on the remote?? I'm now trying to find a universal remote replacement, but the TV is new enough it's not listed as a model the universal remotes will work with.

I ordered the 85 inch version and 2 days later at 6 am it was delivered. After having it professionally mounted we were off. The picture is Amazing and you can see that it's being upscale. I watched a few 4k test videos and movie scenes on YouTube. In particular I watched the dark knight and the blacks are really good. You can make out the different shades and there was no smokey or ghosting in the blacks. The smart features are awesome. They even have an "art" setting that turns your screen into moving or still art when not in use. Or ambiance where certain vibes or moods are selected and sounds and visuals are played to relax or set the tone The one big gripe I have is the sound. Maybe I am spoiled as I have been using a sonos surround sound for the last 2 years but the regular sound on this was several flat and not at all impressive. In my opinion yoy must get a sound bar at a minimum if yoy are going to get this TV Honestly this is true for any modern TV though as the flat screen doesn't leave room for great speakers

Haven’t bought a flat screen in over 10 yrs so may be easily swayed, but what a great TV. Had set up and working in under an hour. Phone app worked great setting up TV and linking cable, internet, registration, and video console. Samsung Plus works fine. Casting from iPhones good. Little learning curve on Samsung remote as some buttons have dual function (volume/mute channel/guide). Picture is startling and sized for viewing distance. Couldn’t be happier!!
