This Samsung 55” Smart TV is really nice. It was easy to set up, but I did have to create a Samsung Account, before we could start watching anything. Setting up the account was very easy. I just needed an email address and then created a password. It asks if you want to add a way to pay (for any movies we might want to watch on the Samsung TV Plus App, in the future), but I declined without any issues. The remote is solar. Meaning it charges using light from a light source, like the sun or a light bulb. The remote took a little getting used to, because the volume is a bar that you push up gently to increase volume and down to lower it. If you push straight down, it mutes it. In the beginning, we muted it no matter what we did. On the right side of that same bar, you can change the channels on live TV, the same way. Most of the apps we use are already included on the home screen. It has Samsung TV Plus, Live TVENetflix, Prime Video, Disney +, hulu, Apple TV, Peacock, Sling, Youtube, Bixby, and Internet, plus SmartThings. I wanted to add the Tablo TV app and Discovery +. I couldn’t find a button for apps, so I did a search. At first it just was showing movies, tv shows, and videos, but as I scrolled down, I saw the Tablo app. I was able to install it and open it, to my account. I didn’t add it to the home screen and I couldn’t figure out how to do that, so I searched on line. Near the top of the home screen, there is an oval box that reads, For You, Live, and Apps. I clicked on Apps and was able to add Tablo to the home screen. I took away one star because I couldn’t get the Alexa app to work, on this TV. I downloaded the app, but it will not open. I went to the Alexa app and it told me to install the app, on the tv and then follow directions on the screen. The app will not open. I spent about an hour doing research. I uninstalled the Alexa app, then reinstalled it. It still didn’t work. The info I found said I could cold boot the TV, by unplugging it for 10 minutes, then plug it in and turn it on, using the on button on the TV, not the remote. I don’t know where the on e button is, but decided that I didn’t want to take a chance on having to re-log in to all the apps that I had just logged in to on this TV, so I just gave up on Alexa. I have it on an Echo Show 15, so it is no big deal for me. This is a beautiful TV. The picture vibrant. The sound is really good, too. You may hook it to bluetooth speakers, but I don’t have any, so I haven’t tried that. Oh, and there are some games you can play for free, in the Samsung app, with just the remote, but the best ones you have to pay to play.
