    • Good quality but does leak when it rains
Purchased for my son to move back home. It is very durable and easy to install but it did rain on his way home and some of the things inside did get wet. it is very nice but I would suggest making sure everything is were it can stay dry just incase. Luckily he had wrapped everything in plastic bags just in case. Also he had fastened it down to the rack but also through the inside of the car and where it had come through the doors to be fastened it had leaked inside the car also because of the weather stripping on the doors being squeezed by the straps. ... show more

    • Great Value! Fits lots of stuff!
We have never used a car top carrier but since my daughter was going to college we needed extra storage for the trip. We bought cargo hook straps and this was very easy to install with those. Watch a Youtube video, helps show you how to do it very easily. It held a lot more stuff than I was expecting, we had bags with clothes, linens, bedding and we had plenty more space. And of course driving from Chicago to New Orleans we did experience lots of rain, I mean downpours. Nothing inside got wet, except when we unzipped the carrier some of the water sitting on top go into the inside, but that was our fault. We had no issues while driving, it was very secure on the highways going 70 - 75 mph. Now it is zipped up in it's little case stored away for our next trip, very easy to store away when we are not using. And great value for the price. I'm very happy with this purchase! ... show more

The durability seems fine for dry, but the zipper is not so grand. Even with the bag not full I could see the teeth slightly off alignment. Drove about 75 mph in some areas over a 2000 mile drive. Fog and light rain through San Antonio left all the boxes in the front of the bag wet at the bottom. Velcro in the front does not stay - fixed at each fill up. This Luggage carrier is supremely made. It feels heavy duty, and I inspected the stitching. To me that is where issues always start with stuff like this that will be in the elements, wind, rain, snow, road debris, Etc. The stitching, if its not tight and right, Forget it. It seems to be well put together and doubled stitched in certain areas that need the extra strength. It seems like it would hold up for quite a few years. Honestly I was not able to use it, but I had already had it laid out to inspect before attaching it to my Mom's Rav 4. I thought it was really well constructed. My Mother was moving from NY to Fla and needed extra luggage space but wound up shipping her Rav 4 but the shipping company's policy did not allow andy kind of roof rack/carrier... Bummer!!! I did not know, so it's my bad. Unfortunately I just packed it up back up and will be returning it. I own a pick-up truck and it will not fit or else I would definitely keep it. Would I buy it again?... FOR SURE!! ... show more
