This generously sized cargo carrier bag is super big and super strong. I have not used it in the rain, but its construction certainly seems waterproof. There are a couple of aspects that might be a bit problematic. The storage case that the cargo carrier bag comes in is apparently made from cheap material that seems to give off a faint chemical odor - that I particularly dislike. Another potential concern is that if your car lacks luggage racks this cargo case may not work for you. From what I can see, it seems that if you don't have a roof rack, you'll need to peel back the foam trim insulation along the top of the doors to secure it properly. This, unfortunately, doing so may weaken the trim and could lead to it coming loose. However, if your car has a rack, this may be a good option for hauling your stuff around, and you can even take it off the rooftop and use it as a large storage bin (in situations such as a campsite or at the beach) Just remember to empty it before attempting to remount it on your car roof.

I'll start with the positives. The cargo bag is very spacious, advertising it holds four suitcases. It came with several straps to assist in stabilizing the bag. The Velcro over the zippers seems to add additional protection on the seal. Installation took some time but instructions were good. As for negatives, we were shocked to arrive at our destination and discover several tears in the cargo bag. This was the very first time to use it! The listing advertises the bag holds four suitcases and we only had a duffle bag with ski clothes and a medium sized, soft shelled bag containing clothes, some toiletries and a flat iron. Both items were relatively lightweight and nowhere near four suitcases’ worth in weight. We don’t know if there were already micro tears in the material that we didn’t notice or if the material is really not as durable as I hoped. Item was returned immediately after I got home.
