Most likely the only RV vent you will ever purchase and replace. I have replaced my camper range hood vent three times prior to purchasing this vent. The other plastic vents did not withstand the ever changing cold and heat we experience in Tennessee. Most of the time, they were so brittle, they would crack/break during cleaning. I was surprised with the quality of the casting. The surfaces were flat without any bowing or warping. The flap is very flat and seems to seal well. The holes lined up perfectly with the old vent. The butyl is very sticky, and they supply more than enough to make a gasket around the outside. The only reason I gave it was 4 stars was that the supplied screws are coated with the white paint and the paint pools in the phillips socket and makes the driver tip slip. I almost stripped 3 of the screws. I would have preferred stainless steel screws. ... show more

My original plastic range exhaust cover failed when the thin plastic hinge pieces broke so the cover plate could not open or close. I could not find an exact replacement and first ordered a nearly the same plastic cover but the hinge pieces looked just as flimsy. I then got this aluminum one with a nice black powder coat. The color is the same as the original and aluminum will outlast plastic material by a long shot. The cost is about double but it comes with the butyl tape as well as screws and adjustment piece which I did not need and screws which were good but not needed as I used the originals. It also came with instructions. The size was a little short leaving me with two holes to fill with white epoxy but the fit to the hood exhaust was perfect. Once the old unit was off and the area cleaned with acetone, the installation took about 20 minutes and looks good. With the latch open and the hood fan on the cover works perfectly as well. My manufactured home is 30 years old and probably never had the stovetop exhaust vent replaced. At least, that's what it looks like. I was getting dirt daubers in the house and finally traced it back to this vent. I haven't had any intruders since replacing it, so mission successful! It was exactly the same size as the old one, so install was easy. I'm sure this metal one will hold up better, and hopefully not yellow! ... show more

While this was not exactly the same size as the old plastic vent that needed replacing, it fit over the vent duct and covered the cutout in the side of my trailer. Just make sure you remove your old vent cover and measure carefully to be sure what you order will be a satisfactory replacement. THEY ARE NOT ALL THE SAME SIZE.
