Our daughter was coming for Christmas and bringing her cat. We have a very active welsh terrier with anxiety so we purchased two of these and installed one upside down to create a door, and make it tall enough that the cat couldn’t jump over it. It worked perfectly to keep them separated giving my daughter and her cat their own half of the house and our dog and us the other half. It made it easy to get from one part of the house to the other. It was also suggested to use rubber grippers on the ends where it attaches to the wall. The reviews said those ruined the paint. We used furniture felt leg protectors instead. No damage, but had to be tightened occasionally over the course of five days. This is a quality product that is easy to install

We had to get a baby gate so our rambunctious puppy could be locked out of a bedroom he repeatedly destroyed things in. Lemme tell you, this gate works and it works well. The two-way door is easy to open and close whenever we need, the actual installation took minutes, and the height of the gate is tall enough to keep our five month old Texas Heeler puppy from jumping over it. My only complaint (and honestly, it's barely even that) is that occasionally I have to manually adjust the rubber piece on the bottom of the door so it actually allows the door to open inward, but that's only after our dog repeatedly rams his big stupid head into the gate in a futile effort to gain entrance to the forbidden treasure trove that is our bedroom. All in all it's a great gate. Sturdy, easy to operate and install, lightweight. Worth the money for sure

Bought this to upgrade a baby gate that my husband bought at the thrift store (the ones you walk over it). I really do like it and I can walk through it. The button mechanism to me is kind of strange but I’ll get used to it. The manual says for doors 29”-32” and I measured my bathroom door at 28 1/2”. It was a struggle to get it on but I managed to get it in. Didn’t even need the wall cups and the adhesives. Love that the gate has a front and back lock on the bottom so you can choose which direction to open your baby gate! **Pro tip: Lay your baby gate down (with where you want the gate to open), place the bottom sides to the door, lift it up, and get the top part in. You might do a couple of kicks for the bottom and then push the top. (I hope that made sense.)**

Very easy to put up, did not need the extension pieces. Gate swings open from either side which I love! I saw a review that mentioned the gate does not close on its own, so I assumed I had to lock it closed each time, but my husband swung the gate on accident & it definitely does close without manually locking it. Was excited about that, it needs a little push, not too hard. I also ordered Wall protector gate cups for a better hold, this gate did come with some adhesive stickers but I chose not to use them & wait for the wall protectors to arrive. A few days up, love so far, recommend.

These gates were super easy to install with tension alone, no screws necessary. They also seem to be very sturdy steel construction, I expect they'll last a long time. You can get them by themselves, but I recommend pairing them with the Wall Nanny wall protector, which increases the surface area and grip of the contacts. It will protect your walls from damage and makes the gates even more secure. Note - there are some mistaken reviews claiming this gate is misshapen and didn't close out of the box. As the instructions clearly indicate, the gate doesn't close UNTIL it is under tension, so it won't look right until after it is installed and the contacts are extended to put it under tension.

We foster herding dogs for a rescue and sometimes need to keep dogs separate to keep the energy in the house in check. I did not like the idea of paying $100+ for an extra tall baby gate for the wide entry way to our kitchen. Especially considering most of these are made cheaply in China. But this one is simple, easy to install and a nice height. Our opening is 45" wide so it's nearly maxed on the width it covers. Adding all the extension pieces does give it a bit of a flimsy feel if pushing on it. So if your dogs are in the habit of pushing or standing and leaning on the gate then there may be durability issues. And that's the only reason I gave it 4 stars on sturdiness. If the bottom rail was a taller rectangular tube it might act as more of a stiffener. But as with all things with our dogs it's more about the training than the tool. So our dogs have gotten use to being separated by a pen, crate or gate through positive behavior shaping and Relaxation Protocol. My favorite things about the gate are that it can open either direction and can be stopped in either direction via the little tabs on the bottom. It also operates very quietly to let sleeping dogs and spouses lie. The sliding safety button on the top makes unlatching and latching a little fussy. I'm sure with time it would become a task relegated to muscle memory for us. But since our dogs aren't toddlers with busy little fingers, I removed the safety button on top. This makes it even simpler to operate. Removing it is easy enough if you are handy and can pay attention to how the two springs go in when they come flying out. And believe me they will so pay attention. Take out the button and the spring and store them for later if you need them, it's a reversible operation. You can add a dab of grease to the slope on the bottom latch button for smoother operation too. Do not do the above if you have children. Another tip is to rest the gate on at least 3/4" thick, or 1x, scrap lumber. The stop fingers on the bottom can catch on rugs or uneven floors when they are down if you rest the gate completely on the ground when installing.
