I purchased this barstools 2 years ago, I LOVE THEM and the way they look, they are confortable for breakfast in the counter and even for sometime in the computer. VERY UNFORTUNATE THAT THE BONDED LEATHER BROKE OFF AT BOTH SEAMS IN THE SEAT, I am back in the market shopping for stools of better quality with the same look. I believe furniture should last a lot longer than one year (initially noticed this flaw within the first year) We are 2 adults with no kids and both of us work so the use I am referring to is very light. ... show more

1. I still like the look of the chairs, and they are actually pretty comfortable. 2. I'm not at all sure that this is leather: doesn't feel or smell like leather. 3. Terrible alignment of the parts. One hole was ½" off so I ended using just one bolt instead of two. Only other option would have been to drill a new hole and weaken the overall structure. The foot rest/brace required significant force to bring the parts together. Also, very bad treads requiring driving some bolts slowly, carefully, in and out, to make sure they won't strip. Overall, what should be a very simple assembly is definitely not designed for a "weekend assembler". And to summarize: Cheap, coarse construction, functional, pretty. ... show more

As of the date of this review, this item is inaccurately described on Amazon as "no assembly required" when it actually arrives in six pieces along with eight screws, eight bolts, two allen wrenches, and cryptic, illustration-only assembly instructions. What is worse is that none of the holes line up as they should and that those holes are not drilled large enough for the hardware provided. Back to Amazon it goes. ... show more
