Gorgeous rug - I bought the 22' runner. Thankfully, I did not have the cellophane-line issue that other reviewers have reported with the runner. There was cellophane down the middle, but no markings on the rug itself. I have a few rugs from this brand that have lasted over 10 years. Roomba vacuum goes over it perfectly. It rolled out and relaxed in a day, without having to place heavy books etc on top to help flatten. Note: it is darker blue from one side and lighter blue from the other (which I personally love). It reflects light very well without being overwhelming. It is soft without being too plush/thick. Smell was not an issue - just kind of smelled like a new car for the first hour or so. I have purchased several Savafieh rugs. This one is a little on the thin side but it is priced accordingly. I wanted a rug to use under the bed with just a couple feet exposed on each side. For that purpose, this rug was okay. It may be a little thin for an area that gets a lot of foot traffic. The rug is soft to the touch. It does not emit any odors. The blue colors are very soft and calming--perfect for a serene bedroom. The pattern is subtle enough to not clash with my blue floral and striped bedding. Brightened up my entire room - now the daylight pouring in is not absorbed by wood floors but is cheerfully adding light to the room - the splash design is so nondescript it ties together any furnishing from garden to formal regency or even oriental as is my chest and screen - I did choose to add a felt pad sold also on Amazon making the carpet cushy to walk on and it should add life the the carpet.
