This fit my 2001 Ram Laramie 5.9 2wd very nicely. It is a snug fit but I overall it worked nicely out of the box. It came exactly as depicted and even came with a certification that shows it passed an electrical current charging test which also provides you with the amount of amps that is generated and sent to the battery at various rpms (which I think is really freakin cool). My only critique is that the there should’ve been more packing cushion within the boxes. I used to be the quality control manager for a company called Bam Box and the general rule of thum was if you tip the box upside down and shake it a few times it should not only be dang near silent but also if the box were to be reopened that non of the products should’ve shifted. ... show more

Easy swap for my 2001 Dodge Ram 1500 stock alternator. Easy way to tell if it’s your alternator is to disconnect your negative battery terminal while the engine is running. If the engine dies then you have a bad alternator. If it keeps running then you have a bad battery.

The alternator did not have clearance for the connector see picture. Top alternator is the new bottom is the old. Had to switch back plates to make it work. Otherwise it was a great product.
