Description

An all-new dark standalone romance from the USA Today & Wall Street Journal bestselling author, Shantel Tessier. COLTON Raylee Lexington Adams is my stepsister and the one woman in the world who can make my blood boil. She’s vindictive, a lot of crazy, and absolutely stunning. I hate everything about her except for when she’s on her knees begging me to use her as my own personal toy. We’ve been playing a game of cat and mouse for far too long. We have used each other for our own sick pleasure. I’ve ruined every relationship my little princess has ever had. A sure way that she’ll come crawling back to me, begging me for what only I can give her when another man fails her. But I'm tired of watching others get a piece of what is mine. So, I did what any rational man would do—I staked my claim, showed the world that she belonged to me, and I’m going to do whatever it takes to make her believe it too. RAYLEE Colton Remington Knox is a man I despise but can’t say no to. He’s what any girl would call a walking red flag. But I’ve never claimed to be a smart woman when it comes to men. Why should he be any different? I’ve always managed to hold my own against him. But this time, he’s gone too far. Posting a video of me on my knees for him, for what? To brag? Embarrass me? He’s acting like he doesn’t know me very well. Colt wants to play a game? I’ll do whatever it takes to make sure I win. No matter what it costs me. People already think I have no dignity, so why let them down now? Things to know about Sabotage A dark college/stepbrother romance TW (Please see author's note at the beginning of the book. • Starts and ends with a bang.
📙 Book Review for Sabotage by Shantel Tessier This book started and ended with a bang. I am not kidding… I AM NOT KIDDING! I read Sabotage right after The Ritual. It wasn’t until I started reading that I realized this was set in the LORDs universe, but on the outside of the secret society. I love Shantel’s version of world-building, with Ritual, she places you right in the middle of the LORDs world but just at the beginning of Ryat & Blake’s story. With Sabotage, we’re placed just on the outskirts of their world with how else they manage to expand their reach with a good dose of spice on the side. A hefty dose. Ms. Shantel changed my mind about a couple of things: 1. Sabotage was my first stepbrother romance, and I honestly wasn’t sure I would like it, but oh my goodness — Colton. So after this, the stepbro trope became a ok 😉. But honestly, so few stepbro books have come close to Colton. 2. Before Sabotage, man did I hate the nickname, Princess. And well, now, I crave it. Thank you for these habits Ms. T. 🍷 Raylee & Colton: what a story! This book was a 3-alarm fire read. I’m still catching my breath over these two. R&C were explosive together and some of the spiciest of the spicy. The flashback scenes between these two really put into context their dynamic. Raylee is a bonafide badass, and she’s right, we’re not the same 🤭. IYKYK ☕️ I started off with a safe blend but needed something that hit harder. Once I found it, it was perfect. Atlas Coffee Company features coffee from the Republic of Burundi. A dark, strong (like Colton) roast is what I needed for this read. 🎼 Shantel’s playlist includes “Joke’s on You” by Charlotte Lawrence, which was my favorite of those she lists. I would also include “Science Killer” by The Black Angels, not for the lyrics but for the musical arrangement that reminds me of looking back and remembering. Specifically when Raylee starts to remember her “bath” conversation with Colton. 🗓️ What’s Next? Stay tuned for my Sacrifice review. Tyson did not disappoint. ... show more

  • 📹🚗 🔥🍾 🔪
I loved this book when I first read it! It’s honestly the reason why I picked up The Ritual. I had no idea that this book was connected to the world. I picked it up because I was influenced on TikTok 😭 Anyway, I re-read it again fully and still thoroughly enjoyed it. There were some awkward themes for me that I forgot was in this book. -SPOILER: It’s so interesting to me that when I first read it, it felt like Raylee’s kidnapping and subsequent torture felt like it took so long and now, re-reading it again, it felt so quick. Maybe cuz I’ve already read it TBH.- So, honestly, after reading-reading this, I now consider this book one of the books that I wish I could read again for the first time. There are a LOT of themes in this one so, be sure to check your TW/CW. If you’ve never read the LORDS series and not sure if you should venture into it, I’d highly recommend reading this book. It’s a super quick read in comparison to all the LORDS books so if you’ve never want to make sure you’re ok with proceeding with the entire series. Definitely read this one first! ... show more

  • Colt and Raylee
So Colt and Raylee have a hate relationship for pretty much the entire story. Their sexual preferences compliment each other. Nothing outside of their relationship drama really goes on in the book. We see Tyson a bit because Colt and his friends work for him. I’m having a hard time remembering how these four men are the Spade Brothers. I’m going to have to go back and scan The Sacrifice. Because they did some crazy stuff in that book. This story was good. I do like Colt and Raylee’s characters. I thought the book ended rather abruptly after they admitted their feelings for each other. The Epilogue kind of helped conclude Raylee’s trauma. All in all it was a good read. ... show more

  • Keep them coming!!
Filthy, twisted, soapy, and oh so consuming! What in the heck did I just read? Shantel brought a whole lot fire and insanity to this story, one that most certainly may be polarizing, one that pushes all the limits. This book has a lot of shock-charisma to it- but it’s best read with you throwing all expectations out the window. This is a story that explores the toxic, explosive, and very chaotic chemistry between two characters. It’s all power, kink, desire, intensity. I won’t say too much to avoid any spoilers, but this is more erotic in nature- no traditional “romance” here. IN fact, I think many folks might not even consider their story romantic at all . Raylee and Colton’s relationship is provocative in more ways than one, toxic more than anything, and that’s what makes this story so fun. These two are crazy- like literally. We might not understand their story or get what makes them tick, but it sure is a wild and engaging experience trying to keep up with their fire. It’s certainly unsettling in places- and for some, it may be unsettling in not a good way. For others, it’s unsettling in that captivating taboo way, the boundary pushing entracing kind of way. Shantel has a go big or go home approach to the story telling here as she unflinchingly embraces all that makes these characters (and some fun side characters) just so messed up. It’s certainly the kind of connection that makes you question yourself for being curious about it, and I did love how bold they both were in pursuing what they wanted and were pretty much willing to burn the world (and each other) down to get it. Real talk though, this book will not be for everyone. If you loved the Ritual and you like filthy stories that lean heavily on steam for chemistry and play on lots of triggers, you’ll love this. If you have an unbendable conception of romance, don’t love “unconventional” relationship dynamics, want something touchy feely, or are easily triggered, heed caution. This is Shantel at her most deviant and filthiest- kinky fun and soapy drama galore. This is best enjoyed going in blind, so avoid the spoilers, dive in completely, and enjoy this wet and wild ride. ... show more
