I’m always a fan of a Kendra book! I’m so happy that things finally worked in her favor and the guard is going down. This one had so much going on and yet it was still so good and easy to follow. Some of the writing was a bit amateur in my opinion or else it would have been a five star rating. Other than that I have always enjoyed this series and look forward to the next one! ... show more

Formerly-blind-so-now-all-her-senses-are-hyperacute music therapist Kendra is pulled back into action as a reluctant supersleuth when a woman she doesn’t know is knocked off trying to deliver a seemingly ordinary wedding video to her. Cue the trademark Johansen mix of roller-coaster intrigue and romantic drama as the heroine races to catch a killer in the shadowy world of military contractors. Fans of the long-simmering relationship between Kendra and freelance intelligence operator Adam Lynch won’t be disappointed as the sexual tension between them redlines. Imagine if 007 finally met his match romantically, and a brilliant, strong-willed Bond Girl ended up giving him his marching orders. Another great Kendra Michaels book by Iris Johansen and Roy Johansen. This book had thrills, terror, action, emotion, and suspense. It was a definite rollercoaster ride from beginning to end.

    • Missing key elements. Warning...The book does not conclude, rather it will have a Part II

The book was enjoyable, but did not deliver on the core of what makes this series unique; the use of Kendra's senses to analyze and interpret the environment around her. She always seemed to be behind in this book, AND, spoiler alert, the book does not come to a culminating conclusion. Rather, the book will have a Part II. It has happened before with Iris Johansen novels (e.g., The Face of Deception) and it leaves me frustrated as a reader. By the time the next book is published, the fine details from this book will be blurred with time. ... show more
