This book is full of twist and turns that you cannot predict. The people are all likable, except the bad guys, their stories are happy and sad but, with an ending that blends all together. A true page turner and a 5 star read you won’t want to miss.

This book approaches a great topic.. spying on your kids. Is it okay to do, how much is okay, is it worth it? How do you save your kid when you don’t know what’s wrong ? Definitely drew me in ! There are a lot of stories going on at once, and at first I got a little lost with the abrupt changes but I soon got my bearings and enjoyed all the different POV and stories going on. The story is faced paced and definitely a page turner. There is a lot to keep your interest. The ending however to me at least was a little let down. I was hoping for a better twist, but I still enjoyed all of the book. ... show more

This book, as usual, is full of plot twists and unexpected consequences of people's choices. This one makes you realize how one small thing can change a lot of lives; some for the better and some for the worst. An amazing read!

Hold Tight is every bit the suspense thriller its advertised as. A tightly wound plot with a myriad of characters which all may seem unrelated at first until the threads keep pulling tighter. A truly suspenseful read with a conclusion you will be hard pressed to guess beforehand. The author's attention to all his characters give this tale the realism needed to keep you on the edge of your seat. I love books that blend an ingenious story with heart-felt characters and moments of quiet poignancy. I will be back for more. ... show more

I really thought this was going to be my favorite of his books. I am a working mother who needs her sleep and yet I stayed up until 3 a.m. both nights, to finish it (which speaks to how thrilling the first 350 pages are). I disagree that the characters were underdeveloped. Where my problem lies- is the ending. It was overly contrived, unrealistic and frankly, not as shocking or exciting as the endings in the past. It was actually quite boring. Perhaps I have just read so much Coben, that I am constantly searching for and anticipating the most absurd and crazy ending and it simply fell short. My last thoughts were "I stayed up for this?!" So I had to give it 3 stars because of the very disappointing ending. But as far as the pace, the characters and the subject matter, it is by far his most interesting novel to date. ... show more

I couldn’t put this down. I know it’s not a new novel, but that’s not a consideration. I couldn’t believe any author could delve into family dynamics and so fully understand and describe the thoughts and feelings of just ordinary people in complicated families and circumstances as well as deranged individuals. Frankly the deranged characters seemed to be so detailed that I worry a little about the author. Better to think he has a psychology degree. Format: Hardcover
Mr. Coben is my favorite writer and I am never disappointed by him. A lot of writers seem to lose "their touch" after time and I can honestly say that I don't see that with him. Each book is fast-paced and you don't want to put them down. In my opinion, the same is true with this book. There are more characters in this one than usual, but it was not hard to follow and he always brings them together in the end. He can't write them fast enough for me. I have read all of his books and, while I am a bit partial to the Myron Bolitar series, his other books keep me on the edge of my seat too. (I only wish he would expound a bit on the character of Win, we know so little about him). While I read Grisham, and both Jonathan and Faye Kellerman, I am always anxious in April for the "new Coben book." The only very slight drawback to this book is that it deals alot with kids and, being a mom myself, you kind of worry a bit about the kind of world this is becoming for kids. Even though the book is fiction, I think Mr. Coben, also a parent, knows what he is talking about. ... show more
