I will preface this by saying that I'm 'migrating' from a previous foam mattress topper that was much more plush (about 2.75") as compared to this 1.5" one. I had the previous one for many years, and I figured it was time to replace it. After trying this one for a few nights, I realized that I'm either really used to a plush top, and/or my old mattress really needs to be replaced (it's probably about 15 years old, though I've used my previous topper with it all that time). After swapping my old mattress topper back on and then putting this one on another family member's bed (they didn't have a topper and have a medium-firm bed), I believe that this topper is probably ideal to add just a bit of plushness or support to a firmer mattress or even a bit of firmness to a mattress that may be too plush. I've been too used to the plushness of my old topper so when I had this topper on my old mattress I realized couldn't really feel it, but when it was put on the other bed, my family member did say that it was a bit more soft and made their bed a bit more comfortable (though again, not too plush since this topper is meant to be a bit more firm as compared to others). Therefore, perhaps this topper is something to consider if you prefer a more-firm bed but just want a touch more plushness or 'softer support,' as inferred above. I do have to say that the design of this topper is quite nice and is much better than just a big piece of foam (which my old mattress topper is). It doesn't come with a fitted sheet to put over it since it's already in a cover, and the straps that go around the corners of the mattress to keep it secure are quite convenient. Therefore, you can put this topper right on your mattress, cover it with your fitted sheet, and then reassemble the rest of your bedding on top of it. Furthermore, I haven't noticed any sort of odor or smell from it. Although it had a crease when I was first unrolling it and putting it on the mattress, I was able to simply put my hands on the flatter portions and "roll" the creases away fairly easily. Overall, despite me not finding this topper to be my liking, I think it is still good quality and accomplishes its purpose well ("contouring comfort with Medium firmness," as mentioned in the product information).

If you want soft, maybe look for something else. I did not want firm. This was a lot of money. Wish I had paid attention to a review that said it was firm. Made nice though.

Easy to take out of packing, and set up. It fit my mattress perfectly, and had elastic straps for the corners. The material is super soft, and high quality. It's really strong and durable. It's easy to spot clean if necessary. The foam is the perfect density, and allows my back to rest easily.

1.5" mattress topper is more comfy than I thought. My husband loves it!!! We previously had a 4" thick memory foam topper, it was comfy to me but, I have narcolepsy and can.literally sleep anywhere. My husband thought it was too soft and not supportive at all, it made his back hurt. This one has more firmness so his back isn't bothering him anymore. I would prefer it it to be softer but,since nothing keeps .me from sleeping, i as usual will digress.
