    • Clearly superior to the alternative, but the rope pulleys need improvement.
I purchased these to replace a pair of "Care free" brand awning poles that were a ridiculously cheap product and it showed. These aren't cheap, but they're worth it. It took less than 10 minutes to install the parts on the Awning arms. UPDATE I took away a star for the low-quality rope pulleys, both of them broke after 4 months of use. The cheap plastic bodies aren't up to the task. Plan on replacing them with locking pulleys with metal housings. ... show more

Have had two previous other brands of this type of awning support. Both junk, flimsy, and non stop pain in the a'. I got my SaveAwns back in June and they are working out great. Much much better built, quality and designed. They really do secure my awnings and we fee safe now in a thunderstorm whereas before we had to drag everything down. Working perfect for our needs - we bought a set for the traveling motor home and then upon seeing them work so well - added it to our winter use Florida 5th wheel too. When we did have an issue - they called right up - solved it in a minute - and so all I can say is - very happy. ... show more

Easy to install, I think this is a little pricy for what it is. At $129 or less, this would be a good item. I've found it just plain easier to retract the awning every night rather than muck with these, but I have used them on several occasions.

    • Gives peace of mind
We lost an awning on our previous RV due to a storm that snuck up on us. Since then, I've been pretty nervous about having my awning out much at all. The downside is the places we camp you almost always need an awning at some point during the day to have some shade. I saw these featured on some Youtube videos and thought I'd spring for the kit. They are somewhat pricey, and I looked at building some myself but didn't really see any way to save any money by the time I bought all the piece parts. We just got back from a two week trip where we used this every day and it was great. I was never worried about the wind destroying my awning. Once you have the initial install done which is nothing more than adding two brackets to your awning arms., it only takes a few minutes to get it set up and anchored down. Then at the end of the day, when you want to bring it back in, you just release the ropes and roll your awning back in. You don't have to take the poles off or anything. I also got some metal pole hangers to hang decorative lights on the poles and that worked out really nice too. The bracket that goes on top of the poles also has little holes in it that you can hook your awning lights on. I was able to reach one pole from my porch on my RV, so each night when I pulled it in I would just unhook the hook and let them hang loose till I put the awning out the next day. ... show more

Great system. I’d give 5 stars but bolts securing the swivel socket on the awning are 1/8” too short to properly seat in the nylock nut without binding it. I threw them away and purchased pins. I sent msg to Saveawn customer service but no reply.
