This dryer is amazing. Initially I bought hot tools tourmaline tools 2000 from Ulta because a stylist helped me pick one out for my needs. I returned it after a week of use and got this one. Even through prices were similar, Rusk is a big step up. My hair type: fine and thin but a bit "fluffy" which gives volume and makes it look like I have a lot of hair but if not straightened well, can turn into big, frizzy fluff ball. My hair is between very wavy and loose curl so I wash and straighten it every day with a blow dryer only. No straighteners. Pros: - the warm setting dries my hair quickly without drying it. I used to buy cheaper dryers that would get really hot to help straighten hair. But that did a lot of damage too. With Rusk, I can dry even faster now a days with warm setting that doesn't cause the damage - hot still gets hot, not just somewhat warm. I use this setting when there is a kink in my hair that I need to just blast with a shot of hot air to get it out. Hard to believe I used to use that hot or even hotter with cheap dryers to do all my hair - all buttons do not stick out, so you do not hit them accidentally when drying. They are indented so you can hold it normally and not switch settings when you don't mean to - cool button is easy to hit. Even though it's indented, it's easy to press only when u need it. I don't mistakenly press it ever - cool setting seems to be same cool as the cool button which I like so if I'll be using it for a while, I do not have to hold cool button - dries my hair really fast even with cooler setting - I've been using it for about a month now, and my hair feels healthy and shiny as if I just got saloon deep conditioning - very light weight but very sturdy. When I pick it up, I do not feel like it's cheaply made like I do with any other lightweight dryer - because many times I dry my hair upside down, hair gets sucked into the back of hair dryer with some dryers. This one has a decent protection there and I haven't had any incidents with my hair getting sucked in Cons: - the only thing that I do not like is the setting order on buttons. The heat button goes from warm, to cool, to hot. So if I am drying on warm and need hot, there is cool setting in the middle instead of them going in incremental order. Same with speed setting: off is in the middle and low is on the left, high is on the right. So it's taking me a while to get used it where with other dryers I can do the switching without looking within the first few days Overall, I'll get used to one minor con for an amazing dryer.

Update 12/21/2023: 2 years now and it’s still a great hairdryer. No mechanical issues, all parts still in tact, dries hair super fast and I’ve gotten my $ worth out of it. By far the best hairdryer I have ever owned and I’ve owned many over the last 40+ years. Original Review: This is a great hair dryer… worth every penny! It can get very hot… if that’s not what you want or need, set the damn thing on one of the many settings and leave it there. The hair dryer offers multiple temp settings and speed settings to cater to many hair types. I am a woman over 50. I have hair below my shoulder blades that is naturally white with salon low lights. It’s of fine texture but at this moment I still have quite a bit of hair. It can get frizzy in humid weather and has a slight natural wave to it. I put this dryer on medium heat with high speed and it does great! Quick drying, no fried hair and Salon quality results for sure! Remember, no matter what your hair type is, you should be using a quality shampoo and conditioner. In addition, you should use a heat protectant spray on your hair before using any type of hair dryer or styling iron. If not, we don’t want to hear your whining or read your bad review because your hair is fried. You did it to yourself. Cons: I couldn’t find any Pros: - Lighter weight - Low Noise - Multiple speed and temp settings - Quick drying - Temp and Speed settings on handle do not move out of place when your using the hair dryer - Arrived on time and well packaged

I always use professional hair dryers. My last Rusk speed freak start giving me some problems after like 8 years of continuous use but it wasn't the hair dryer's fault, was my house that had some electrical problems. I Love Rusk Speed Freak and they work fantastic, duration is awesome no matter the use. Dry faster than others, powerful hot air that helps a lot to dry my hair quicker in less time, leaving my hair completely straight, shinny, without that frizzy oncoming that scares all of us specially when we are in humid places or it's a rainy, snowing or a hot sweating day. If you use a good hair brush and do a good job drying and straightening your hair with this hair dryer believe me, your hair your can be straight for the whole week just to give an example. I have like 10 years using this brand Rusk speed freak and the w8less version and they leave my hair straight and with a shine that others can't... i have a T3 cura that is good and leave your hair with a good shine but.... it takes more time drying and the worst part it looks good for a time but the frizziness start to appear in less than an hour, maybe hood for people with thin straight hair just to dry thheir hair but for straight hair if you have curly, wavy or coarse hair that needs a jod job from the roots to the end, this expensive one doesn't. Sometimes i want to use something new or different Just to check if there's something better but i regret it and return to this ones. Wasting lots of money in another hair dryers. I have curly beachy mix waves that is not easy to manage and the worst part is that I'm on medication that leave my hair super dry with split ends all the time no matter how many times cut my hair or use biotin or others vitamins and the only hair dryers that help me a lot in hide the dryness and that split ends is the 2 Rusk mentioned before. Honestly, For me this one is one of the best ones... i have like 20 hair dryers different brands including the super expensive dyson one that work well but not like this one.
