My only suggestion is to loosely mount the brackets to the jeep first, then install the running boards, then tighten the brackets starting with the main bolt then the small silver weld bolts, then tighten the running boards. I wanted to give these 5 Stars, but I can't for 2 reasons. But I'll get to those in a moment. Background info: These are for my 2016 Jeep Wrangler JKU Sahara Edition. Installation: Quite straight-forward, especially if you have done this kind of thing before. The instructions include torque specs, so I would have a torque wrench to make sure you really dial in the tightness during installation. I used an "EP Auto 1/2-inch Drive Click Torque Wrench" and it worked great. Installation instructions themselves are simple and easy to follow. All necessary hardware is included, which is great. Materials: The step bars feel solid and have a good finish coat. They feel durable and I like the overall quality. Aesthetics: I like the look of these a lot. I mean, looks are subjective, but I'm happy with the overall aesthetic. So the 2 negatives: One of the bars is damaged. It looks like something punctured to box and dented the bar and scored/scratched the finish. I am trying to decide if I want to replace it or just go with a "Hey, it's a Jeep. And chicks dig scars." attitude. I'll update if I decide to replace it. The other (smaller) smaller negative is that I wish all of the bolts were black instead of chrome-ish finish. It would look better in my opinion. Overall, I am pretty satisfied with these nerf bars. Both good looks and function. 4/5 Stars. Hit us up if any questions. ... show more

Awesome looking running boards! They were easy to install and I did them myself. Only issue I encountered was the bolts not threading to the jeep frame and that was because of some rust and grime in a couple of holes. I purchased a threading tap kit to clean out the threads and it was smooth sailing after that. Love these running boards. ... show more
