Product showed up quick. All the parts were in the box which is a nice surprise lately. Easy install with good instructions. Works well, but if the base gets clogged with bedding door may not shut. High quality and thus far reliable coop door that was quite a bit cheaper, easier to install, and in my opinion better looking than other options. There is no WiFi or Bluetooth in it though, you hold your phone screen up to the light sensor while your phone flickers to program the door. It works good and is a cool feature so I won’t hold my assumption that it could be wirelessly controlled against it. ... show more

We tried reprogramming to close after sunset but we usually end up outside manually closing the door by pressing the button on the door. We waited patiently one evening well past dark while the blue indicator light blinked for more than 20 minutes. I don’t feel I can trust it to close if I’m not at home. It opens just after sunrise just fine. Would like to have an app based “close now” button for remote use. No, I don’t recommend this product. ... show more

I installed the door per the directions and it was not functioning properly. The only way it would open or close was by pressing the button. I contacted the Run-Chicken company and they responded within a day. After trying a few things they suggested it was determined that the drive unit/sensor was defective. They sent me a new drive unit from their facility at no additional cost. The door now works perfectly. ... show more

1. Easy to install 2. The cord for solar panel is short 10 would be more ideal. My coop is in the shade in winter months so I would like it to be of the roof to get the most sun. Last door was not getting enough sun due to over hangs. 3. Programming was done with the phone no internet is needed but the app was. Easy directions, and with a short video makes it easy to set. 4. No external port to put a battery bank on to charge it in case I don't get enough sun, again cord to solar panel to Short. 5. Will update it and change rateing when I have it, in use a bit longer but so far everything seems to be work fine. Now it's the test of time. ... show more
