I've used this same model of tape measure for 40 years as an Ironworker and at home. They're built like tanks and will last if you don't abuse them. One thing I've had trouble with on the last two I've bought (before this one) is that the tape gets a crease/wrinkle/bend at the 1-1 1/2" mark (where the end clip's support stops. I'm wondering if they're cheaping out on the tape thickness these days. They use to "tear" across the tape when they got old, but not until the last few that I've owned have a seen this bend, which is a big PITA when you're trying to hook it on the end of a board, but it bends up and lets go. Exactly what I expected. Heavy duty, can lock to record measurements. Sturdy hook to hold onto edges so you don’t have to have a second pair of hands to take measurements.

False advertising, I spent a little extra for US made product. That was the idea anyway, these came in and are made in Thailand.
