  • Very complete kit that offers great value for the money
I really just needed the broken plastic piece that resets the starting air intake. But after struggling to find it I decided to give this kit a shot. The parts fit perfectly (although the gas lines were a bit finicky) and the install was smooth. The air filter DOES need to be trimmed down, but you can just the stock one as a template and cut around it. The jets adjustment screws do not appear to be the same length as the stock carb, as turning them the traditional 1.5 turns each prior to adjustment did not get the chainsaw started. If you have the same issue, make sure the idle screw is slightly pushing on the throttle body, then turn the H and L screw OUT a quarter turn each and try starting a few times. If it doesn't start or won't stay running with or without holding the trigger, then turn them another quarter out (both). Repeat until it starts. After getting it right the saw was as good as new. The difficulty is about a 2 out of 10 as long as you're handy, but this is a great value for the money and a lot better than rebuilding a carb. ... show more

  • Carb for PP4218avx
The carburetor fit right up but I couldn't use some of the gas line it came with bc it was much larger than the hole nearest the primer bulb and I couldn't pull it through. It was a little finicky to adjust and I had to trim the air filter down to fit. It works just fine now tho.

  • Too good of a deal not to have on hand
This kit did have everything needed to change out the carb on a PP4218AVX, at a very reasonable price. Arrived quickly as promised. I intend to get one for each of my saws for spare before I 'need' it & the price is higher.

  • Rebuild kit has everything needed
Work for a chain saw I bought second hand, once everything was replaced, I just had to adjust the carb and idle. Runs like a champ. Not bad kit for a $15 chain saw that was second hand rebuilt.

  • Works great
Runs great 3814 poulan chainsaw the fuel lines are not quite correct size but was easy to make work

  • Not great for PP3516AVX
Pretty disappointed. For a Poulan 3516AVX this is close, but not right. Fuel lines are too big on the OD. Ended up having to buy some of the right size lines locally (extra $20) Throttle linkage (the little bushing that slides on the shaft) binds 25% of the time. Gasket stud holes are oversized and the gasket slips down and mostly blocks the little vacuum port. The H and L adjustment screws are different sizes. The supplied adjustment tool fits the L screw, but slips on the H screw. Not sure why those are different sizes. You will need to gap the spark plug. I contacted ProChaser about the adjustment tool, and got no reply. Still tuning, but wishing I just spent the extra money on an OEM replacement. ... show more

  • Functional, missing air filter
Only really needed the tubing, primer bulb and clunk/filter for my Poulan PP4218A. Tubing was weird, 3 sizes of random precut chunks both yellow and clear. Air filter was missing but the gaskets were present. I'll keep the plug and carb as a spare. The splined driver is handy too.
