  • A great keyboard after a slight adjustment. A great keyboard after a slight adjustment.
This keyboard offers a different but comfortable typing experience with a layout that is split. So if you are open to adjusting to an ergonomic design you may love this. Pros • Split layout promotes a more natural hand position • Built in wrist rest adds comfort during typing • Low profile keys is smooth and quiet • Includes full number pad and function row • Backlighting is useful for low light use • Multiple connection options • Flip out rises to raid height Cons • May Take some time for some to adjust to the split layout • Larger footprint due to ergonomic design • Not designed for portability and does not fold The interesting feature is the split ergonomic layout. For me it took a little time to get used to, especially if you are coming from a traditional keyboard. After a short adjustment period, it becomes easier to type more accurately since your hands naturally stay in their own zones instead of drifting across the board. The low profile mechanical switches feel smooth and consistent, with a quieter press compared to standard mechanical keyboards. That makes it a good option for shared spaces or late night work. The built in wrist rest is a strong addition and helps reduce strain during use. Combined with the split layout, it creates a more relaxed typing position overall. It is also nice to see that this keyboard keeps a full set of keys, including the number pad, without sacrificing functionality. The backlighting is great, especially for working in dim environments. One thing that could improve the design is portability. Since the keyboard already has a split layout, adding a folding mechanism could have made it easier to carry, though that may not matter for users who keep it at a desk. Overall, this is a well designed ergonomic keyboard that balances comfort, functionality, and modern features. I also prefer the low profile keys. With larger thick keys, It always feels like typing on popcorn, so I def like this height better New Product Feature Rating: 8.5/10 Comfort focused design with strong features, though it requires a short adjustment period. • Comfortable cushion, nice layout, mushy keys. Comfortable cushion, nice layout, mushy keys.
Wanted a nice keyboard that would be restful for my hands and would pair with my multiple computers, and this checked all the boxes. Wired, wireless with dongle, and bluetooth (2 device). Pairing was fairly easy, although I had to use the manual to see how to get it in pairing mode - put the slider to BT, and then hit FN and Q or W (labeled BT1 and BT2). Once the bluetooth indicator is blinking you are paired. For wired or dongle, just put the slider in the right position (wired center, dongle left). The keyboard takes a little getting used to. Tried it fully elevated at first, with the back tilted up, and that wasn't quite right to adjust to. So put it flat, and that still is a little different, but easier adjustment. It lets my hand be in a more neutral position, and that is nice. The adapting to the layout is taking a little bit of time, mostly works but occasionally I hit a key I wasn't aiming for or have to look. The center keys are wider than normal, so that gives a little leeway. The keys are a little soft. Not quite mechanical feel, not quite a chiclet keyboard feel, somewhere in the middle, almost mushy. Not silent, but reasonably quiet. I haven't tried replacing any, it doesn't come with spares. The cushioning feels nice. It is a nice pad, integrated in the keyboard, so always there. Makes the keyboard pretty bulky, but not a big deal when using it, more a problem if you try to hide it away. Bigger problem is the faux leather cover or whatever it is - worried it will be flaking and nasty in a year, and because it is integrated, then??? Not sure if it will still be usable, not sure how you would replace it, and I doubt X9 has a replacement part. So that is a concern. The battery lasts reasonably well, and it recharges off of USB-C, which means whenever I am connecting to one of my computers and plug it in there directly. Overall, it isn't bad for an ergonomic keyboard. I think I would look for something without a padded integrated wrist rest in most situations, but we will see - it may last without any issues at all. Just a small concern. ... show more

  • Ergonomic, backlit keyboard
This is my first time using an ergonomic keyboard. It's taking a little while to get accustomed to it. The built-in wrist rest is more comfortable than I expected and I appreciate the full number pad. I particularly like that the keyboard backlit because I prefer to keep my office lighting low. The keys are relatively quiet but not silent. I've had a couple issues with keys apparently sticking, which is why I've only given 4 stars. ... show more

  • X9 Performance X9RBLMERGKEYB: Excellent Ergonomic Mechanical Keyboard X9 Performance X9RBLMERGKEYB: Excellent Ergonomic Mechanical Keyboard
This is a review of X9 Performance Low Profile Mechanical Ergonomic Keyboard (Model: X9RBLMERGKEYB). I have been using this keyboard across multiple devices, and my experience has been positive. Here are my observations: [What I Like] - Typing Experience: The keycaps and red mechanical switches provide pleasantly smooth and quiet keystrokes. - Ergonomics & Comfort: The integrated wrist cushion has just the right amount of padding to be comfortable without getting in the way. - Backlighting: The backlit keys are clear, vibrant, and a very nice addition for typing in low-light environments. - Multi-Device Connectivity: Switching between Bluetooth 1 and Bluetooth 2 is fast and effortless. I regularly switch between my laptop and tablet with ease. The connection indicator even uses two different shades of light to help you identify which device you are currently connected to. - Thoughtful Design: There are three riser feet situated toward the front underneath the wrist pad instead of the usual two, giving more stable angle options if you choose to lift the front of the keyboard. [What's Missing or Unclear] - Re-pairing Hidden Steps: If you "forget" the keyboard on your device and need to re-pair it, the manual doesn't explicitly tell you how. Repeating the initial pairing steps won't work (the device won't be discovered). The solution: Instead of a quick press, you must long-press the Fn + BT1 (or BT2) keys until the connection indicator flashes rapidly rather than blinking slowly. - Confusing Icons: The Bluetooth connection indicator on the keyboard doesn't use the standard Bluetooth logo. Instead, it uses an icon that looks like a traditional Wi-Fi signal symbol (🛜), which can be a bit confusing at first. - Documentation Availability: The physical paper manual included in the box is useful and easy to read. However, when checking the X9 Performance website for digital backups, the exact manual for this model (X9RBLMERGKEYB) wasn't available online yet. [My Wishlist for Future Models] - Convenient Mode Switch: I wish the mode switch toggle (BT / Wired / 2.4G) was located on top of the keyboard rather than tucked away on the back side. - Trackball Inclusion: I would love to see this exact multi-connectivity (BT + 2.4G + Wired) model come with a built-in trackball or trackpad. X9 Performance does make a trackball version, but unfortunately, it is limited to a 2.4G wireless connection only. ... show more

  • Comfortable and Ergonomic Design Comfortable and Ergonomic Design
This ergonomic low-profile keyboard would make an excellent choice for anyone who spends a lot of time typing. The low-profile keys appear comfortable and responsive, while the overall layout seems designed to help reduce strain during long work sessions. One feature I would particularly appreciate is the set of retractable feet, which would allow the keyboard to be angled to a more comfortable typing position. It also includes a very soft wrist pad that looks like it would provide excellent support throughout the day. In fact, the wrist pad feels almost too soft, which would make me curious about how well it might hold up after extended use. Still, it certainly adds to the overall comfort and premium feel of the keyboard. Overall, this keyboard appears to offer a great balance of comfort, ergonomics, and functionality, making it a solid option for both work and everyday use. ... show more

  • Has Pink Huano switches; no spares included; very flexible chassis Has Pink Huano switches; no spares included; very flexible chassis
This keyboard has Huano brand pink switches. The listing says they are red, but the box the keyboard comes in says they are pink, and they do look pink. The problem is that I cannot find this exact model of Huano switch to order spares and there are no replacements included like more premium keyboards. The overall construction quality is average at best. The chassis is incredibly flexible on this keyboard. The keycaps feel cheapish - they are not double shot PBT. The wrist pad is actually incredibly comfortable. It is a fake leather material but it is super plush and positioned so your palm fits right in the middle. The LED backlighting is useful for darker conditions and the battery life on this keyboard is superb. Despite being a full size keyboard you have to use secondary function for volume controls; this is something that I usually prefer having dedicated buttons on full size keyboards. The ergonomics are comfortable enough for hours of long typing sessions and I actually do find it pleasant for casual typing. I think the value is average to below average, as there are slightly better quality keyboards for similar pricing, although this one may be the most comfortable that I have tried. I would only recommend this keyboard if you value comfort above all. ... show more

  • Good keyboard but with a few fatal flaws Good keyboard but with a few fatal flaws
This is my first foray into ergonomic keyboards, and I was pleasantly surprised. It is more comfortable and even though it is low profile, it still has a slight raise to reduce ulner deviation. It is slight, but it helps. After a few days to learn the muscle memory of the keys, typing has been a pleasant experience. Great for typing and general productivity. Now for the negatives. 1) The wrist rest is permanently attached. The fake leather is very cheap and I expect to wear off soon. This means the only way to replace a wrist rest that’s worn down is to get a whole new keyboard. 2) This does have mechanical switches, but they feel worse than some rubber dome keyboards. The bottoming out is very mushy feeling and not great to type on. They claim these are red switches, but the switches in my keyboard are certainly not. They appear to be more a pink/cream color. 3) The keyboard layout has a small 0 on the number pad. This makes it rather frustrating to use as I will inevitably hit right arrow when using the numpad about half the time. 4) The keyboard will not work to wake my PC. It seems to go to sleep, even when plugged in, so that hitting the keyboard will do nothing until the PC is awake. I wind up either having to use a second keyboard or pressing power on the PC. Overall, I think better ergonomic keyboards can be found in this price range. While the typing experience is okay, the flaws make this hard to recommend ... show more

  • Comfortable, quiet, and impressively versatile a great low‑profile split mechanical keyboard Comfortable, quiet, and impressively versatile a great low‑profile split mechanical keyboard
This X9 Performance low‑profile mechanical keyboard is a fantastic blend of ergonomics and modern connectivity. The split layout immediately reduces wrist strain, and the included wrist cushion makes long typing sessions noticeably more comfortable. It feels natural to adapt to, especially if you’ve used ergonomic boards before. The red switches are smooth and quiet, giving you that mechanical feel without the loud click. The low‑profile keycaps make the whole board feel fast and responsive, almost like a hybrid between a laptop keyboard and a full mechanical deck. Connectivity is a major highlight you get Bluetooth, 2.4GHz wireless, and wired USB‑C, all switching quickly and reliably. It pairs easily with PCs, Macs, tablets, and even phones. The rechargeable battery holds up well, and the backlighting is bright enough for nighttime use without being distracting. Build quality is solid, the typing angle feels natural, and the board stays stable on the desk. For anyone who wants a comfortable, quiet, and highly flexible ergonomic mechanical keyboard, this X9 Performance model is an excellent choice. ... show more
