When i opened the package it looked as though this was a returned item and i was inclined to be disappointed. I decided to try them anyway and found that these tools work great and seem to be a good quality. I read other reviews about issues with the cutting tips being brittle and breaking while mounting them. I had no trouble. They are very Sharpe. The cutting edge holds up well and they remove wood very quickly. Hard black walnut, hard maple and chestnut. The sanding attachments work nice too. It would be nice to have a few more handles so you could move between tools easier and the Allen wrenches that came with the set are too easy to lose. A nice T handle wrench would make the set a lot better but overall I was very satisfied with it.

although one blade did break while unpacking due to being dropped, the remaining work very well, they’re extremely sharp and cut very smoothly. also, the sanding tool works beautifully, once you get the feel for it, you have to put pressure slightly to one side so it spins properly, pretty simple to figure out. overall very decent set, do not regret this purchase.

I have numerous lathe tools. However, until I bought these I did not have any carbide tools. While I like my standard steel lathe tools, sharpening them is a pain. With carbide, when the wear out you simply rotate the blade and keep going. Eventually they will need replacement but replacement blades are inexpensive. Did I mention that I love these tools for making pens? For what I paid for these tools, my local woodworking tool store should be embarrassed for what they charge for lathe tools.

For the price these are very well made wood turning tools. The cutters are very sharp, which cut very cleanly. It is nice that you can extend the handle for deeper cuts in vessels. Comes with a very nice carrying case to keep all the tools secure from damage. I have been turning for about thirty years and still use my traditional wood turning tools, but these new ones really help in some of my turnings.

. After a year of bowl turning, I took a chance on using these scraper tools. The control and finish are amazing. I still use the gouge for starting out on really rough wood...but found these to be best for the rest of the turns.

They work the quality is not the best. They are sharp out of the box but do not stay sharp long. The screws that hold them in come out and it would be better if they came with thumb screws which I purchased separately.
