Bought an area rug after much thought since I kept hearing about rugs not lying flat or having odors but we needed something on the composite flooring in the living room. We did not want to spend at lot since we have pets. One reviewer talked about making sure you got a rug pad. Bought a rug and then ordered the rug pad from Amazon. We did not put the rug down until the pad arrived. The rug kinks smoothed out in no time and the area rug has been great. We made sure to position the rug so that furniture covered the corners which are a tripping point no matter the rug. The rug mat was bigger than the 8 x10 rug we bought but it was not difficult to cut down ( we had ordered 8 x 10 rug mat). We used scissors to cut the mat. It required some effort but they were not the sharpest pair but rather our whatever scissors. Be sure to cut the rug pad slightly smaller than the rug. No obnoxious odors or sharp bits in the pad have been noted as these had been reported in the reviews for the rug pad. I have lived with antique wool and silk oriental rugs with and with out rug pads. If you buy an area rug buy a rug pad it makes a big difference. Do not expect the experience of wall to wall carpeting with area rugs. They are different.

I love that this pad is 100% felt and doesn't have the rubber backing like heavy duty pads I've bought in the past. The rubber backing is not necessary at all if you have furniture on a large rug with this pad as the furniture holds every thing in place. I bought the 8x10 pad and cut it to fit a rug that was somewhat smaller. The pad was easy to cut and lightweight so that it was easy to carry and lay out. I paired the pad with a Loloi area rug that I also bought on Amazon and love both products and would buy them again.

We just had LVP installed throughout our entire house. We bought washable rugs, but the flooring manufacturer wasn’t sure the lads that came with the rigs would be safe not to stain the floors, but felt is fine. We ordered these for all the rooms in the house where furniture will be sitting on the rug- these are NOT non slip-we ordered these for our bedrooms where the furniture will hold the rugs in place. Very easy to cut, very light weight, easy to manage carrying through the house, even the 8x10, and shipping was super fast.

This is one of the best carpet pads I've ever purchased. Exceeded my expectations. I have purchased several pads on Amazon. What I liked about this pad is the thickness! It is a lot thicker and softer than I expected and no harsh chemical smell. Also, it arrived rolled up in a box and not folded a gazillion times in plastic wrap. So no waiting for the folds to disappear! I highly recommend this pad and will purchase again. Buy this carpet pad soooooo worth it!

I moved into a home with hard floors and I discovered that my jute throw rugs slipped dangerously when I walked on them. I ordered these, not expecting much, but these little guys do the job. Still, a couple of weeks later, the area rugs hold the down tight. Even when my dog does a happy dance on them. I would definitely buy these again.

Easy installation, but would be nice if pads were cut around 2 inches (total of 4 inches) mm shorter than rug size on each side to allow for rug overhang. This would eliminate customers having to trim so that rug edges would lie flat.

my area rug now has a nice cushion-y feel when walking on it....it's so much better than it was before putting the rug pad underneath it. The rug pad did need some trimming to fit under the rug and it was very difficult to cut with scissors.

I decided to replace my old rug and, in doing so, also decided to buy a pad for underneath it. I’d never used one before but now that I have, I’ll never go back! It makes our rug feel so much softer and fluffier. It also vacuums and steam cleans better despite the low pile. My kids really enjoy laying in the rug because it’s so soft now. I was worried it would cause our rug to slide around easily but it stays firmly in place, though it is partially underneath our couch.
