I used this bracket to install a Uniden Bearcat in my 98’ TJ above the rear view mirror and it works perfectly. No extra holes were needed and it’s sturdy.

    • I made it work
I used this for my 1999 Jeep Wrangler. I wanted to mount my CB and scanner together. I have a model 29 cobra cb and it is really too heavy for this bracket, then I belly strapped my scanner to it and no way would it have worked. I knew this going in but had a plan that worked out. I have a roll bar that crosses over in the front so my plan was to attach the other end to that for more support. I could not find the length of this bracket so I gambled that my plan would work. The bracket was a little short to make it to the roll bar but I bent over the end of the bracket so it would extend the rest of the way and then bolted it to the roll bar. It made it very stout and worked great! If I was unable to attach it that way there was no way I could have used it for these units. ... show more

    • Perfect CB holder!
I had a CB holder down on the side of the console by the transfer case shifter. It worked for me because I am short, but was annoying to my hubby. I don't like the CB holder on the dash by the door, thinking someone might steal it, so when hubby showed me this one, I said it was perfect!! Easy to install. All I need to do it run all the wires along the windshield frame and add an external speaker. ... show more

Other than the rearview mirror issue its worth every penny. I do believe my mirror has been replaced this may be why it doesn't work on my jeep.
